A place to stay and figure out Malang yourself.
We needed a place to crash while exploring East Java. I picked this place on price, but the neighborhood was definitely university (which it advertised) so expect the university student area vibe. The staff was proficient in English, but not too handy for tourist activities. If you need a clean place to stay and have your own agenda, this place will work great. They also have wi-fi to help you plot your own agenda.

The staff hospitality and service was great but I feel not really comfortable with the room because bugs can get in somewhere. I just left some snacks open for less than 5 minutes and it already covered in ants.

Menginap bulan Juni 2015, kamar superior Queen bed, televisi kabel, air panas, AC dingin, kolam renang cukup bagus walau airnya dingin sekali. Hotel menjadi 1 dengan apartemen sehingga cukup banyak orang mengantri lift. Ada indomar*t di lobby hotel, memudahkan beli barang kebutuhan. Sarapan menu standard indonesia (bubur ayam, semur ayam, perkedel, nasi putih, sayur cap cay), harus sering dipantau karena cepat sekali habis.

Budget hotel di sekitar kuliner ala mahasiswa
Saya memesan 5 kamar utk liburan tahun baru 2015. So far kondisi & pelayanan hotel bagus, hanya ada kejadian yang sedikit menjengkelkan pada saat parkir kendaraan. Saya & keluarga sampai di hotel sekitar jam 2.00 siang dengan rombongan 4 mobil. Awalnya kami diminta parkir di B1 tetapi karena hanya ada sisa parkiran untuk 1 mobil,kami disarankan ke B2 dengan keluar dahulu dari gedung hotel kemudian masuk lagi untuk langsung menuju parkiran B2. Sewaktu keluar di gate parkiran mobil pertama rombongan kami diminta membayar biaya parkir tetapi karena kami hanya melintas & inipun atas saran security di B1 kami menolak pembayaran tsb sehingga sempat terjadi debat dengan pihak parkiran & security yang akhirnya kami diijinkan keluar tanpa bayar. Tetapi sewaktu mobil saya melintas di gate ada comment yang tidak sopan dari salah satu security dengan menggunakan bahasa jawa sbb "wong kere kok mlebu hotel". Suami saya yang mengerti arti comment tersebut langsung menegur security tersebut dengan keras. Memang security tersebut langsung meminta maaf tetapi sikap & ucapan tsb tidak selayaknya keluar dari mereka sebagai pemberi jasa & kami adalah customer-nya. Harap pihak management hotel dapat memberikan training mengenai public speaking & services kepada jajaran security/parkiran atau semua karyawannya yang di front office.

hotel ini ada 2 lantai di apartemen soekarno hatta malang, lantai 7 (lobby dan kamar) dan lantai 11 (kamar). saya memesan kamar standar, luasnya cukup -- tidak terlalu sempit, masih ada ruang untuk menaruh koper besar di sisi tempat tidur. meja untuk menaruh makanan atau barang sangat kecil. free 2 botol mineral water - 2 gelas - 2 handuk mandi. tersedia gantungan baju tanpa lemari, wastafel di sebelah gantungan, shower air panas dan dingin yang agak aneh ada curtain diantara kloset dan shower, mungkin untuk menutupi gantungan baju atau handuk agar tidak basah. breakfastnya buffet di lantai 11 : nasi putih, sayur, 2 macam lauk, roti (mentega dan selai, tanpa toaster), bubur polos dan kuah, dan air mineral gelas, semuanya boleh ambil berulang kali. rasanya standar aja. jika ingin mencari air mineral gratis, tersedia dispenser di tiap lorong apartemen lantai tsb. cuma yang buat bingung waktu check in saya menunjukkan print dari hotels.com, resepsionisnya memang sudah menerima ada bookingan dari nama saya, tapi resepsionis tsb bingung apakah pembayaran sudah beres atau hanya booking saja. tapi prosesnya (sepertinya tanya ke atasannya) tidak lama sekitar 5-7 menit, saya disuruh duduk sebentar di lobby, lalu langsung dapat kunci kamar. jangan lupa minta karcis free parking, karena jika tidak, parkir menginap dan perjam harus bayar lagi.
