While the location of Latroupe Prado is excellent—right across from the Reina Sofía Museum and within walking distance of several major attractions and transportation options—it’s important to clarify that this is not a traditional hotel, but more of a hostel with similar accommodations. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom, which was clean and functional, but the overall amenities were quite limited. Rooms are cleaned every three days, there’s no in-room hairdryer (you must request one at the front desk and sign it out), and noise can be an issue depending on your room’s location. That said, the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay, which made a big difference in our overall experience. Just be sure to manage your expectations and know what you’re booking If I had known this was a hostel from the beginning, I would have understood what to expect when booking; however, Expedia lists it as a hotel, so naturally, you expect amenities that align with that.

All the staff were very nice, we stayed two nights. It was nice of the hotel allowing us storing our bags for free the morning we checked out, and we were able to pick up our bags quickly to catch a train. Thank you! we will stay this hotel again if we come back to visit Madrid someday.

Latroupe Prado is the perfect mix of comfort, style, and social energy! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making my family’s stay even better. The location is unbeatable—just steps from Atocha Station and within walking distance of Retiro Park, the Prado Museum, and Puerta del Sol. The rooms were modern, clean, and well-designed, with privacy curtains, charging outlets, and private bathrooms. The lounge and bar had a great vibe, and we loved the live band playing one night—such a fun touch! With great amenities, a lively atmosphere, and top-notch service, I highly recommend Latroupe Prado. Can’t wait to stay again!

Overall it’s a very clean room and easy access to the train station and most attraction sites. The 7 euro breakfast is fair and good value. The issue was the door to the little balcony that was open when we came in, and it’s very hard to figure out how to close it. As a hostel style, no basic furniture still hard to come by.

This hotel (combination hostel for young travelers) is in a great location, about a 10 min walk from the central station (Madrid Puerta de Atocha) and about 15 min walk to the world famous Museo Nacional del Prado (the Prado Museum). The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Sofia Museum) is literally across the street from the hotel. The hotel is quite wonderful, modern (renovated), and nicely appointed. It lacks some typical basic tourist amenities like in-room coffee and a safe, but otherwise features everything a traveler might need. Our room was a corner suite on the 1st floor with 270 degree views of city streets down below. Regardless of the low floor, the room was remarkably quiet due to triple-glazed windows. The cafe downstairs served breakfast for 7 euro per person, and reasonably priced eats, drinks and beer throughout the day. The location is walkable, with lots of nearby restaurants and bars.

Reasonably priced hotel and hostel. Rooms are airy and modern with aircon. The club in the basement is fun when live music is on. This hotel is very convenient for things like the Museo del Prado.

Utmärkt läge nära konstmuseer
Läget var perfekt centralt för oss. Livlig gata utanför men väl ljudisolerat med stängd balkongdörr. Sämre ljudisolering mot korridor men det störde inte. Vi hade 4-bäddsrum med två platser i våningssäng. De övre bäddarna lite korta och lite besvärligt att klättra till. Trevlig personal i receptionen.
