Really cute and quaint space with a great historical feel and they did a great job on upgrades (air conditioning, lighting and electrical) that don’t take away from the historical feel, which I feel is the most important aspect of staying at a place on Macinac Island

This hotel is amazing! Staff is friendly, rooms are very clean, they have a Mexican restaurant on lower leave open until 4, fudge shop right when you walk in, a pool on 2nd level and it’s perfect walking distance of everything. We took Sheplers Ferry from St.Ignace and something I learned was- Whatever time you arrive morning/afternoon/evening. A staff member at Murray hotel will take your luggage. They will keep it at the hotel and once your room is ready they will put it in your room. That way you can start exploring the island without hauling your luggage everywhere. You will not be disappointed booking with Murray and we will definitely be back!

Mackinac Island visit
Our room clearly had a balcony once, overlooking Main St, but the door was replaced with floor-to-ceiling windows at some point. A shame...that would've been an awesome amenity. I only had 2 real complaints with the room which downgraded my review from 5 to 4 stars: tiny tissue paper thin bath towels (think Days Inn circa 1972) and a VERY dim reading lamp on only ONE side of the bed. Otherwise, the room was lovely and the hotel is in a great location - directly opposite the ferry docks. Great for people watching which is why the balcony would've been such an asset.

The property is older as expected at Mackinac Island. Room was spacious and comfortable only downside was the bathroom sink which was right outside the bathroom had very little counter space. They gave us free donuts for breakfast every day. It is located close to several restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I enjoyed the unique historical nature of this property. Some people may not like that, but I think it's nice to see old buildings maintained and used. The breakfast and lunch option was economical and very good. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Sun deck with swim spa was a great surprise for some time away from the crowds. I would definately stay there again.
