We loved everything about this place. The owner helped with all the things we wanted to do. The room was amazing! Out of all the places we stayed on this trip. This was by far our favorite. The home cooked meals were a highlight of the trip. Tayeb and his staff made it feel like we were family. I highly recommend The Scorpion House.

This is a guest house on the West Bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor, designed, decorated and run by Tayib, the multi-talented owner. He and his family made us feel at home from the start, and gave us a real taste of the local way of life. It is located close to the many spectacular sights of the West Bank, and he organised all our expeditions and arranged for us to meet local craftsmen and archaeologists, so that by the end of the week, we felt one of the family. He cooked delicious meals for us, and was always on hand for advice and explanations about the local way of life and the issues facing Egyptians these days. If you want an impersonal luxury hotel, then this isn't the place for you, but if you really want to experience Egypt as it is, this place is unbeatable. We had a fabulous time.
