We went to see Luray Caverns. Comfortable. Clean - big points for clean! Hot tub to finish the night. Very quiet. We all said we’d keep this for future trips.

We enjoyed the cabin so much
The place is so clean and lovely. The quietness made us feel so relax. Everything in total is excellent. We will go back and book more days. My visiting friend from NY would love to take her family in the cabin and enjoy the sceneries of Shenand0oah National Park. It would have been better if we were provided with beddings as we ended up buying them. When we got there, the dryer's door was not working.

Beautiful property, peaceful setting with amazing views
Having never been to Virginia before, this was a very extreme difference from what I am used to. Breathtaking views all over, the locals were amazing and polite, and the cabin was perfect for the 3 of us. We had enough space we could move around without feeling like we were on top of each other, the other added bonuses like the hot tub, the grill and the fire pit were all well appreciated. You won't be disappointed, its close enough to the basic needs to not feel like you need to sacrifice, but its tucked away beautifully when you want to feel like you want the peace and quiet.

Beautiful spot
My family and I had a wonderful time here! It's a beautiful spot with breathtaking views of the Shenandoah. The house was clean and larger than I expected. The kids had fun exploring the surrounding area.

Nice view
The cabin was cleanish the floors really needed to be cleaned they were pretty dirty and the couch needed a good cleaning. There is a futon but it’s not very comfortable. There is a noise that sounds like a vibrating pump noise that comes about every 30-60 minutes you can hear in the downstairs bedroom. There is a lot of dog hair from previous owners on the floor. The view is very nice and the bathrooms are very clean. It’s nice that there is a washer and dryer for use. The beds were comfortable. The owner was very fast to respond when we could not get the fireplace working. The fireplace was nice to have and the hot tub was very clean and enjoyable. Overall it was a good stay and and the location is nice and close to things. The house was spacious and we would stay here again.

We love the chalet!
Our three day stay was a reunion of four high school friends. We had a wonderful time! The chalet was exceptionally clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. This was my second day, and I definitely will be back. Thank you Patricia for allowing us to use your lovely home!

Luray Waterfront
When we arrived the cover was off of the hot tub, so there were leaves and other debris in the water. It was also broken and would not heat up. We alerted the owner, but she took over 24hrs to respond. We were very disappointed, because a hot tub was one of the few criteria that we wanted for the weekend. When the owner finally responded she didn’t seem very apologetic saying, “at least at 90 it didn’t need be a high temperature.”

Lovely chalet
My husband and I rented the chalet for 4 nights. It was beautiful and spotlessly clean when we arrived. Communication with the owner, Patricia, was via email, and we could get no phone signal at the chalet, thus only 4 out of 5 stars for communication. We had a lovely stay, and would recommend the Foggy River Chalet.

Family weekend
This was a great place for our family to be close enough to stores while still being on the river. The river access was great for the family, even the kids, because of the water level at the tile and because an arm of the river branches off in front of the house lessening the speed of the water. The cabin was modern but classic and had all of the essentials!

AWESOME CABIN, VIEW AND OWNER!
The cabin was beautiful and clean. It had everything we needed and more! Beautiful view beside the river. This area is very private and I would love to return in warmer weather to fully enjoy the river! Both beds were very comfortable and plenty of sitting room in the living room. Gas fireplace was very nice and warmed the room quickly! The location was very private, but close enough to Luray and stores to never have to go far to enjoy Luray. The owner was very nice and responded very quickly to all questions. Patricia was great to talk to and made us feel welcomed in her home! We would highly recommend a visit to this property! Wonderful Shenandoah
We stayed three nights at the cabin to allow us time to visit and hike Shenandoah NP. The location was convenient to the park plus it had a nice yard right on the river. The layout worked perfect for the four of us and it was well equipped. While we did not take advantage of the hot tub and grill, we did enjoy the peaceful setting from the front porch. We will definitely stay with Patricia again.

Relaxing, Comfortable, Spacious, Tucked Away Mini Getaway
Great getaway for two families with little ones! Patricia made us feel completely at home. She is a wonderful host. The Chalet has a very warm, welcoming, log cabin feeling. It is tucked away with lots of privacy and space! The home is equipped with the necessities. The hot tub is a wonderful delight at night! The Chalet is on the newer side, clean, and linens provided. The home is close to Luray, caverns, river activities, Skyline Drive, etc. There are some really great local spots nearby such as Cooter's and the Country Corner down the highway a bit. We enjoyed our one of a kind stay. We made some wonderful lasting memories in the Chalet, and hope to return in the future! Thank you Patricia!

A lovely chalet tucked near the river!
Overall, my family and I had a relaxing vacation tubbing down the river and fishing. The chalet is located in a great location both near the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and 3-9 miles away from the Luray Caberna and Skyline Drive; so it provides options for its guests. The sunsets were also absolutely stunning and were visible from the water or the longer driveway. The distances between the four properties also was significant that we didn’t see the other families often except when they came to our water access area. The chalet was organized with multiple all the appliances you may need as well as plates etc which was nice and convenient when we wanted to cook. There is also a charcoal grill downstairs along with a fire pit area. There are just a three things we wished we knew before booking such as the roadway is near the location so the car traffic was masking the peaceful atmosphere and there is no cellphone or internet service whatsoever. While we like unplugging most of the day, it is also important to be reached in case of an emergency or to figure out plans for a following trip out. While it is understood that we could get in the car and drive about 5 minutes to get service while sitting on the side of the road we wish this information was provided to us before or when we booked so the proper arrangements could be made in case of emergency. The last thing we noticed was that almost the Chalet was established in 2012 there was wear and tear on the structure and it was not maintaining to much. For instance, the porch, windows and the porch chairs were covered in spider webs and the gutters were filled with leaves and debris which when it rainied on us forced the rain onto the porch instead of down the gutter. Or the interior vents and decor appeared to not have been cleaned for a while as there was dust on them :-(. We would just wished for better maintenance and upkeep for such a pretty chalet structure. However, in sum the location and the chalet as a whole are great when vacationing with the kiddos or pets!

Decent Stay. Cleanliness a big issue.
I contacted the owner Patricia after our stay to give a personal feedback on June 4, 2018. So far, I have not received any response from her. Alas, I have to submit the personal feedback publicly. Here is what I wrote to her. "Hi Patricia We had a decent stay at your chalet last week. The location is great. The chalet was beautiful. I do have feedback for you. 1. There is a serious water clogging issue in both bathrooms. The sink in the downstairs bathroom was unusable because it was very badly clogged. The bathtubs are also clogged. 2. The bathroom upstairs had not been cleaned before our stay. The toilet bowl had visible rings because it hadn't been brushed and cleaned. The bathtub had a big stain at the rear end. 3. There was a lot of dust on the fans and when we turned them on, we were sneezing for a while. 4. The box-spring upstairs has gathered layers of dust which is clearly visible to the naked eye. 5. The linens in the downstairs bedroom had not been put back on the mattress and the pillows. We had to go through the blanket chest/ottoman to cover the mattress and the pillows. 6. When we got to your chalet, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom downstairs. So we had to quickly run to the store to buy a pack. I believe toilet paper should be at least available to the guests. I am not sure if you were aware of this but I wanted to bring it to your attention. I just wouldn't want your next guest to go through this. If you have any comments/questions, please let me know. Thanks Prabhjot" Still, the entire experience wasn't negative. Here are some positives: 1. The location is unbeatable! Right on Shenandoah river, quaint, rustic and beautiful. 2. The chalet is newly built. Hence, everything is new. 3. It is big enough to house a lot of people. 4. The grill is an added bonus so is the hot tub! 5. The kitchen is well equipped so you don't need to bring your own utensils. I would also like to add that we followed all the check-out instructions before we left. 1. Dumped the trash at the requested location. 2. Ran the dishwasher before we left. 3. Left the keys in the box. 4. Put all the linen in the washer 5. Turned down the thermostat as requested. We feel that after having played by the rules, Patricia's lack of response to our personal feedback is very disappointing.

Wonderful fully equipped cabin for the perfect getaway!
Patricia Price is a great host! This cabin is one of the best bargains for a relaxing vacation. Two decks (1st floor deck is huge) provide a fantastic view of the Shanendoah river. The cabin is very comfortable, including a gas fireplace and a hotub. The kitchen has everything, dishes, mixing bowls, pots, pans, crockpot, coffee maker and every untensil you’ll need. (bring your own spices). The beds are very comfortable as is the living room. We like to try different places but would definetly consider a return visit. We spent our time going to nearby Luray Caverns, Copper Fox Distillary and various wineries - all within a 30 minute drive. If you head to the wineries or distillary, consider the Griffen Tavern in Flint Hill, simply the best.
