Hut magic in the Palatinate Forest
Flooded with light and soft in color. The Höllenberghütte is a cozy, modern wooden house, right on the edge of the forest in the small town of Lug, with a great view of the red sandstone formations and hills of the Palatinate Forest.
Natural materials, the fireplace and an outdoor sauna, our house offers every comfort to enjoy a relaxing break. We bought the Höllenberghütte in spring 2018 and have since invested a lot of love and passion in the redesign. Now you can expect a high-quality, well-equipped kitchen, a chic bathroom and two cozy bedrooms and WiFi. Read an interesting book on the couch in front of the fireplace, or let the evening pass with a nice game at our large dining table.
It doesn't matter whether you have breakfast on the terrace with fresh bread rolls from the village shop (5 minutes' walk away) and let your gaze wander over the Luger valley, or end the day at our cozy fireplace with a good glass of Palatinate wine, the spacious grounds invite you to Sunbathe and relax. Our garden sauna offers you a special sweat experience, with a view of the countryside and cooling off directly in the open air.

Families can let their children jump around on the property, climb trees, explore the forest, hang out on the ninja slackline that we have stretched between the trees, roast stick bread or go with you to the nearby playground.
Hikers can take the Höllenberg tour or the Geiersteine tour directly from here. Two of the 7 premium hiking trails surrounding us “7 in one fell swoop.
Mountain bikers can jump into two of the 20 routes of the Palatinate Forest Mountain Bike Park directly in Lug. For more sophisticated cyclists, there is z. Take the up to 40km long “Castle Tour”. In the evening you can park your bikes in your own lockable bike garage and also charge e-bikes there.
With the Luger Geiersteinen and the Luger Friedrich, climbers live with us in close proximity to the most imposing rock with the longest climbing routes. Two of the very big climbing destinations in the Palatinate.
For those who like to go shopping, our neighboring town of Hauenstein, in addition to the German Shoe Museum and the Glass Shoe Factory, even offers the opportunity to search for the right shoe in a variety of shoe shops on Sundays and public holidays. The Style Outlet Zweibrücken is only 35 minutes away by car.
Our small village Lug is located in the southwest of Germany, in the so-called Wasgau. This is the perfect starting point to explore the Palatinate Forest, the largest contiguous forest area in Germany, the Southwest Palatinate region, the German Wine Route and the neighboring Alsace.
