***PARKING***
Parking is EXTREMELY limited given the dense urban environment - we recommend using a ride-share service or carpooling when feasible. Free parking is on a first-come basis and is available at the rear of the property, as well as the side of the property just off Patterson Avenue. Free street parking is available as well on surrounding streets.

The Neighborhood:
Situated on Bardstown Road (voted “Louisville’s Best Street”) in The Highlands Historic District, you’ll have plenty of unique and iconic options to explore during your stay…no car required. The Highlands is extremely walkable and bike friendly with over two dozen restaurants, coffeeshops, bookstores, breweries, and endless locally-owned places to find new treasures. Nearby Historic Cherokee Park designed by Fredrick Olmsted systems is home to 400+ acres of walking/running trails, vast green spaces and waterways to explore,

Bungalou borders downtown Louisville and popular “NuLu” where you can attend shows, sporting events, 4th Street Live! and walk across the Ohio River atop the pedestrian bridge to Indiana.

Bardstown Road is a lively street with walkability to many surrounding restaurants, coffeeshops, boutique shops, entertainment, and nightlife that can stay open til 2am.

NEAT Bourbon Bar is located at the front of the property - guests will have private, back-door access without ever having to step foot off the property. NEAT Bottle Shop has all essentials for sale – spirits/beer/wine/bourbon.

What a fun place!
The unit was great. Fun decor and comfortable. Loved the outdoor courtyard and connection to the bourbon bar. Each unit seems to have a different theme so we are eager to stay there again to experience the other themes.

Jungalou and Bourbon Trail
Jungalou is the most fun you will have in a rental. The suite itself was exactly as it described no surprises. It is in the heart of NULU, a cool and vibrant area, plenty of bars and restaurants to keep you happy. You will have to take a $15 UBER ride each time you travel to the Louisville distilleries and Whiskey Row if you do not have a DD. Check in via the app was easy, no issues there. We arrived on Sunday, so we had no issues with Parking. The Suite was great, plenty of space and amenities, very clean and comfortable. The outdoor game yard was so much fun. We would order our cocktails at NEAT and sit outside to enjoy them. I don't have any complaints about Jungalou, but have a few tips to make your stay even better. Coffee was supplied which is so nice of them, but if you are a coffee aficionado, I'd suggest taking your own. On that note, there are several coffee shops on Bardstown Road if you are an up and out the door kind of person. Location was good, but I will tell you so there are no surprises, you are in the vicinity of several gay bars. You will need to Uber to Whiskey Row. It will cost $30 round trip so it can get expensive going back and forth. We didn't do much in the general area of NULU, we spend our time at Distilleries. WR is not a 4-minute drive, more around 10 minutes. Not a deal breaker by any means. For the money you save on a VRBO vs hotel, you can use for UBER. Overall Jungalou is a winner, and I would stay again.

Fabulous Fun Pad Reasonably Priced
By far this was our favorite place while we were visiting KY. It has themed suites- ours was jungle. You first see the yard filled with lawn games- which we took advantage of until the storm arrived. Then we entered our suite to find two hanging chairs, with animal print wallpaper, greenery bordering the room ceilings, plush bedding, colorful furniture, and an equipped kitchen. Then you have Neat, the bourbon bar directly in front if you get thirsty. Also, within walking distance to many cool places like Highland Morning (breakfast), The Back Door (dive sports bar). Only sorry we could not stay longer. We hope to come back with a group and stay in all of the suites. Sean was a great communicator during our booking. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you plan to be in the area.
