Great stay at the Standard
The hotel was right next to a big train station and in the center of the city. The staff was wonderful. The room was big and beautiful. The property itself was lovely as well.

Very unusual hotel. Relatively new 5* property with some nice facilities but they need to fire their interior designer. This is easily the worst decor of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Clashing blues and reds. Trying very hard to be different but memorable in a negative sense!

We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at The Standard! It's a very fun property full of friendly staff members, and it's clear that they prioritize hip vibes (e.g., kitschy decor, lots of on site drinks & bites, great events, etc.) over all else. The location near King's Cross is unbeatable. The tube and bus are a stone's throw from the front door, and cool spots like Coal Drops Yard and the British Museum are an easy walk. We were also fortunate enough to check out Decimo and the New Year's Eve party, and they definitely did not disappoint! One thing worth noting is that, for a hotel of its caliber, it seems to be lacking in some pretty basic amenities. Our room, which was a Standard King, didn't have much storage space; there was no closet and, despite there being several drawers, only one of them was actually empty (the rest were occupied by random things like cocktail shakers and cutting boards?). On a more granular level, they also didn't have many electrical outlets, and there wasn't a towel bar for the hand towel in the restroom. None of these were huge issues at all, just strange oversights to see in a place of such high esteem. Those few quirks aside, it's a great place to stay and we had a fantastic time!

Stunning, not standard!
Check in was effortless and no problem being a little early. Room was better than expected with a partial view of the St Pancs hotel. Bed was amazingly comfy. Well stocked mini bar, total black out drapes, funky decor. Cracking bar too. Big shout out to Buffi and her brilliant service.

We booked city view deluxe room, but the room is very small and no place to hang towels or anything in bathroom, and no room to store clothes so pretty much you have to keep all clothes in your suitcase due to no drawers. This hotel needs a remodeling, if you only stay a night or two is okay, for 5 nights or more not so much. All the staff are friendly and helpful.
