Beautiful small hotel: lovely furnishings, capable and helpful staff, air-con in summer (!), and extensive breakfast. This is definitely the place to stay for a high-end experience if you want to be just a 4 min walk from restaurants or the tube/rail (express trains 19 min to Waterloo, running twice an hour). But - the rooms are very, very "cozy." We had the largest room avail (other than the family room), but after two days felt a bit hemmed in. If there were more public spaces to gather, read, or watch tv, it might feel more luxe. The armchairs in the lobby seem more for a brief sit; the breakfast area has afternoon wine/beer on request but isn't staffed as a bar; and intermittent rain renders the small outdoor patio not very useful. We'd stay again if we had business in Richmond, though. Very kind staff, excellent location.
