The pictures of the rooms look quite small, but trust me, they are SPACIOUS and well equipped. The hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained, the desk staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. I could not have had a better experience with Independente Bica!

A Gem of a Hotel
This hotel was a great value and a wonderful place to start our trip. The people were helpful and friendly and the room had great amenities! We enjoyed the breakfast each morning that was included with our room especially my flat white coffee each morning. I would highly recommend this gem!

This was a welcome surprise! I didn’t have huge expectations for my experience at Independente Bica but it was my favorite hotel stay by the end of the 5 day stay. The rooms were stylish and modern with Japanese styling. It was just me in the room which was plenty of space. My friends stayed in the hotel too and I saw their rooms. Each was well apportioned with great light and views. I stayed on the third floor which was Mateus themed so everything was pink. Two of my favorite elements overall: the Staff and the location. The staff were friendly and super familiar with the neighborhood and Lisbon. They gave us great recommendations and greeted us with a smile each time. There was breakfast service included each morning and a good wine selection for dinner. (The lobby is a restaurant btw). The location could not be beat. I was worried that we were not in the dead center of the city but our location ended up being on a super active party street. There were tons of restaurants, parties until 2a (June is party season) and ubers galore. We never waited more than 2 minutes. I loved walking to shops and dinner and bars. I don’t stay at the same hotel twice but I may make and exception for Independente Bica!

The hotel staffs are very helpful and effecient especially, Andrei! His really patients to answer all our questions. We checked in late he really helped us on everything. Also recommended some place to go since it's our first time in Portugal.

Myself and my two daughters stayed 3 nights at this beautiful hotel and I am so glad I booked it. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect - quirky and decorated beautifully. My 25 year old picked the top bunk immediately and loved it! What made this place so special and different from other places we have stayed were the extras. A cool Smeg fridge with wine, water and chocolate as well as tea and coffee. Even the wine glasses and pottery cups were beautiful. They thought of everything and the chilled ambience downstairs serving the best breakfasts was such a treat in the morning. The location was perfect, easily accessible to everywhere you want to go. I did read some reviews previous to going on our trip saying it was noisy - but that didn’t affect us at all - but they even provided ear plugs if it had! All in all a perfect place to stay. We loved Lisbon but the hotel made our holiday so special. Would highly recommend and want to go back!

The room was be very small but we did not need big space. It was quiet and had air condition and a fridge with some drinks. The restaurant was nice and the staff very nice. Checkin and checkout was very easy The Hotel has a perfect location if you want to discover Lisbon

We loved our stay! The location is spectacular, the service is incredible, breakfast was delicious and the rooms even though small have everything you might need. We booked a basic room but we lucked out and had a beautiful Juliette balcony facing the street which was a highlight of our stay. If you have a car, park by time out market underground for 30€ a night as you cannot park anywhere around the hotel (not even to unload bags)

Room was very small. No place to unpack luggage. No closet just 5 hangers next to bed. Couldn’t even walk around bed. No phone in room. No lobby enter hotel through their cafe. Reception area was on a counter in the cafe.
