About this property

4 Star Beach Front Luxury Resort, Lanai Ocean View, 1 minute walk to the beach

The Room
The room overlooks Nukoli'i Beach & Park and has a beautiful ocean view from the lanai ( See Photos ). The room is in one of the few areas on the resort where you can hear the ocean 24 hours a day without the artificial pool noise in the garden area. You have a tranquil, romantic, direct view of the ocean with no distractions. Just the sun, the waves and natural vegetation of Hawaii. The air-conditioned room has a comfortable king bed, a child sized ottoman, coffee maker, mini-fridge and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom includes a tub with shower and is appointed with travertine tile and marble counter top. The room is newly renovated, carpeted and painted. The room is on the ground floor of building three, so No Stairs or Elevators to slow your 30 second walk to the beach or pools. We have a second room next door( Vrbo# 1811141 ) if you have a party of more than three. Book early if you want both rooms for your group.
The Resort
Kauai Beach Resort is a gem among Kauai hotels. It has class, style and genuine value alongside the many more expensive choices available on Kauai. Kauai Beach Resort is a former Hilton resort renovated and converted to a 4 Star condo/hotel resort. You enter the property through a tunnel of trees from the Kuhio Highway, just three miles from the airport. As you pass the coy pond you enter the open air lobby. Here you will experience the friendliest hotel staff you have ever met, reminding you that you are indeed in Hawaii.
Set on 25 lush acres in an area with little development other than KBR itself, with no other hotels, condos or other clutter to mar your view, the resort is surrounded by nature. The resorts rooms surround a central garden which contains four pools, two hot tubs, waterfalls, a water slide and a sand bottom pool surrounded with sand. Overlooking the sand bottom pool and ocean is the Driftwood Bar & Grill. Relax in the sun on the beach lounges around the sand surrounded pool as the Driftwood folks refill your drinks and bring you snacks. Or cool down with a shaved ice, a Hawaiian tradition from Ko Shave Ice. All this just a 20 second stroll to the beach and 20 seconds to your room.
The Resort Location
Centrally located on Kauai’s Coconut Coast, the resort hotel is a great base for exploring both the north and the south shores.

• Less than 6 miles to Kapa’a on the north(shopping, restaurants, activities)

The Beach
Three miles of pristine open beach with no other resorts to disturb your view.
While the beach is scenic, it is not considered a swimmable beach as it has quite a bit of coral and lava. However, the coral and lava make for some beautiful breakers. The surf can also be pretty challenging for most. It does have plenty of soft sand for wading; however, it's best to go to one of Kauai's famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach, just north of the golf course, is the closest to the resort and has great facilities for picnicking, a children’s playground and protected beach areas for swimming. You can walk the beach to Lydgate State Park and Beach from the resort, about 2 ½ miles, or drive, about 3 miles. You will also want to visit other popular Kauai beaches which include Poipu Beach, Anini Beach, Kalapaki Beach, Shipwrecks Beach (great hiking trail), Waioli Beach Park on Hanalei Bay and many more.
The Island
Kauai is Hawaii's fourth largest island and is called the Garden Isle. The oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain is draped in emerald valleys, sharp mountain spires and soaring jagged cliffs of the Na Pali Coast and Waimea Canyon (Grand Canyon of the Pacific) all aged by time and the elements. Centuries of growth have formed tropical rainforests, forking rivers and cascading waterfalls! Some parts of Kauai are only accessible by sea, air or trail, revealing views beyond your imagination. More than just dramatic beauty, the island is home to a variety of outdoor activities. You can kayak the Wailua River and see the beautiful Fern Grotto, snorkel or surf on Poipu Beach, hike the trails of Kokee State Park, bike along the Coconut coast from Kapa’a, hike up Waimea Canyon and savor panoramic views of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, explore white beaches on Kauai’s Coconut Coast, one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, and play in the emerald blue ocean. But, it is the island's laid-back atmosphere and rich culture found in its small towns that make it truly timeless. Explore the regions of Kauai and make your escape to discover the undeniable allure of the island.
• Kayak the Wailua River and see the beautiful Fern Grotto
• Snorkel or surf on Poipu Beach
• Hike the trails of Kokee State Park
• Bike along 4 mile path on the Coconut coast from Kapa’a
• Hike up Waimea Canyon and savor panoramic views of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific
• Hike along the south coast from Shipwrecks Beach

Island Amazing but will stay elsewhere next time
This Island is Fantastic! If staying at this location we recommend a car rental no less than 2 full days for 5 night stay. Pre book csr on line for resort location - do this in advance. If you stay here....contact resort to ask about construction or updates happening on property. If building 3....don't book!! Keeping complaints simple and not all inclusive: We had air-conditioning issues intermittently ( and we kept our sliding door closed because leaving open shut air off automatically)- host said he contacted resort but we were never contact by resort and on our last day our host asked us to be in room so maintenance could come. Nope, it was last day of vacation and at that point we had figured out tricks to make it work. we had intermidiate lack of HOT water, there was constant noise throughout day into Night! we had no deadbolt but luckily a saftey lock/slider because 10pm on a Friday resort security tried to let the work crew into our room!!!! After complaining to front desk and advising our host ( with no acknowledgement or apology from host) we slept with a chair in front of door rest of stay. Resort was apologetic and the crews became more scarce after that night but a bit too little.... With all that said : overall the resort was nice enough and staff was really friendly/attentive but again get a car! Beach was not a swim beach but wonderful for walking , sunrise, and relaxing to the sounds of waves. If pools are your thing- ample nice clean not crowded.

Great Experience!!
We loved this condo! Our host Michael was super great in giving us a heads up on important things. The resort was ideal for what we were looking for in terms of location (centrality) on the island. We loved all the pools, hot tubs, waterfalls, and beach access! We'd definitely stay here again!!

Beautiful Room!
Beautiful clean room which was thoughtfully well-stocked. Loved having beach chairs available as there was no comfortable seating on the beach. Apparently the resort was having trouble with cable connection a few days into my stay. The owner reached out to let me know that I would have access to free tv / movie apps instead! :-) views of the beach from lanai but no shade on the lanai. For the resort itself, this is my second stay, and each time different amenities were not accessible - 1st stay they shut down the slide halfway through due to low staff, and Jacuzzis were shut down for my whole seven day stay. Second trip - the Starbucks was very poorly stocked, and became less stocked as the days went by and the Wi-Fi only worked well for several days . On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and accommodating if they can be. The location is very pretty, close to the airport but no airplane noise. Food is very good! 🌺

Lovely place to stay in Kauai
We very much enjoyed our stay here. The central location made it easy for us to explore the whole island, from Ha'ena to Waimea Canyon. We had no issues turning left or right out of the resort onto the highway (as I had read in some reviews of KBR). The property was clean and beautiful, with perfect sunrise views (in January). We loved the pools, enjoyed breakfast at Naupaka Terrace, and had wonderful massages on the beach. Great resort! The room itself was very nicely decorated, with new looking, plush carpet. Everything was clean, smelled good, and there was minimal rust (based on what we saw around the island, it would be unrealistic to not see any), and aside from a couple of tiny ants we saw no other pests in the room. We didn't use many of the extra room amenities, but what we saw looked to be in good condition (except we couldn't find the pump for the air mattress -- the owner offered to rectify that for us, but our 10 year old daughter fit comfortably on the chaise). The room is well situated on the first floor, with a lovely view (though only a small bit of the ocean in the view). It was a few short steps from the room to the pool area, and a few more to the beach (which isn't really swimmable, but was lovely to walk along). Shower pressure was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. The host, Michael, was excellent with communication, and sent a wonderfully detailed email before we departed with what to expect, along with some local recommendations. We did have a little snafu at check-in. All of the details said a 3pm check-in, but the front desk insisted it was 4pm. Since we had plans in Poipu at 5pm, we were anxious to check in and get changed. Fortunately another lobby attendant was more helpful and checked if the room was cleaned, and let us in after confirming it was. (We actually stopped by around 1:30 to see if early check in was available and that employee said to come back at 3... Then the agent when we returned at 3, plus another woman with her, insisted it was 4 pm). Just be aware if you have plans the evening you arrive. All told, we'd 100% stay at this resort, and in this unit, on a future visit to Kauai.

Nice Pool area
The overall property of the hotel is nice. The condo is dated and needs repairs. Moisture issues mainly with rust. The door sticks, the drawers stick, the bikes are rusted, mold on the beach chairs. Hard to avoid these things. We had someone come into our room, but left quickly as my husband was sleeping and woke up.

Wonderful Location & Resort
My wife and I rented this unit from the owner, Michael, for our honeymoon in mid-September. The room was one of the best placed spots at the entire resort in my opinion. It's located on the outside of the building so the view isn't inward facing towards the resort. The lanai/sliding door has a great view of a natural (maintained) landscape and has additional privacy compared to other units. It's also located on the ground floor which is convenient and provides a slightly larger outside patio area than second floor and up units. Michael provided recommendations to help us fully experience the island which was greatly appreciated. He also had two bikes available for use when we were there. The resort was really nice, well laid out, and fun to be around. However, to fully enjoy your stay on the endlessly beautiful island of Kauai, you need a car! We had one rented and lined up, but this was also an early recommendation of Michael's. We hope to one day return for more hiking! I can't recommend renting this specific spot enough. 10 mins from the airport and situated perfectly between the drier and wetter sides of the island that you'll want to explore.

Just perfect.
This was perfect for what my husband and I wanted during our stay in Kaua'i. The unit was clean, the bed was comfortable, and Michael provided some practical extras (beach chair, cooler, bikes). We were out of the unit most of the time, hiking and exploring beaches, but it was nice to know we'd have a secure and comfy place to return to. The property is lovely and relaxing as well (that soft sound of the ocean is inescapable in the best way). The extra plus is the reasonable pricing. We booked Kaua'i just two weeks in advance so we thought we'd be spending a TON more given the short timeline, however Michael's place fit the bill. Would stay again!

Beautiful property
The property is beautifully maintained and our daughter loved the pools. Easy access to the beach! The ottoman in the room works as a bed for a small child under the age of 6 or so. Our 9-year-old was too big for it. It would have been nice if sheets would have been provided for the ottoman as well. We were happy to have the wagon and beach chairs to use as well.

Great Vacation at the Kauai Beach Resort
The accommodations were just as described by the owner, with some recent improvements to the room, a refrigerator, some cutlery and plates, and a few items available to borrow for beach activities (e.g., snorkel gear, boogie board). Unit is on the main level, with a veranda and a slight view of the ocean in the distance, as well as a nice view of sunrise in the morning. Nice property grounds overall with several pools on site and very close to the beach. While we didn't have regularly maid service since we rented from the owner directly, it was a very good value compared to going through the resort directly (about $1K less than what we would have paid booking a room directly with the resort).
