A network of walking and biking trails criss-cross the slopes, and you can pick up a route map for either at the tourist office. The world famous Tour de France is also a frequent visitor to the area given the numerous famous Cols in the area (Colombiere, Aravis, Croix Fry, Forclaz). Keen cyclists will not be disappointed and the chalet is set up to support cyclists every need.
In Le Grand Bornand there is a beautiful nine-hole golf course with a great driving range, and on those very hot days head for the fantastic swimming pool complex, with a restaurant and grassy areas for picnics. If you're looking for something a little more challenging, there's a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.
August sees the International Children's Festival in Le Grand Bornand - a week of puppet shows, circus acts and workshops, with a grand firework finale.
