Didn’t feel comfortable with the area where the hotel was located. Then we find out you need a code to get in the lobby! A code to get in your room. And by the way, there is NO staff on site!!!! How do you run a hotel like that and who would stay there. Tried getting my money back but Expedia couldn’t get a response! No wonder, NO STAFF ON SITE! Super disappointed. Do NOT be fooled by the pictures. Worst hotel decision I ever made. To Expedia: take “The Blanche” off your list of hotels in Lake City FL!

A disappointing stay
The Blanche is a old hotel in name only it's a shell of an historic building that was gutted. The interior is modern furnishings attempting to look historic. If you like historic, old architecture and furnishings this ain't it. In addition, we specifically requested a queen bed but on arrival found a old fashioned uncomfortable double bed. There's no representative on site just a phone/text number for contact. The place is very sterile and clean but definitely not our idea of a historic or comfortable stay.

I love staying at the Blanche! Easy, no fuss, quiet, quaint, comfortable… I could go on! Communication with staff is easy and they are always kind and professional. The Blanche is a gem in Lake City and I don’t plan to stay anywhere else when work sends me their way.

The lobby area was beautiful. The room was comfortable and very tastefully done. Everything worked great! The 2 bottles of water and the Keurig Coffee Maker were nice extra touches. We had no trouble getting in using the codes we were given. We look forward to our next stay!

The elevator was broken and I had my elderly mom on a walker. There was another lady that had a bulging disc in her back having to pull all her luggage down the stairs. I had 2 rooms and this was definitely not how we envisioned our stay being.
