I stay at this hotel when I'm in Lagos, it's location is convenient for being close to the airports. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff is helpful & friendly. They have a restaurant that you can dine in or have room service. The food options are vast & meals are well prepared & presented. Electricity is reliable & the air conditioning works well. I am always happy with my stays at The Shoregate Hotel.

The bedsheet had stains on it, the phone in the room wasn't working at all, no iron to press ur clothes with, the shower had black moles all around it. The least of all the furnitures were out dated.

I will start with the positive note: staff did their job as they should, there was no exceptional customer service but it was not bad either. Major con: First time back in Nigeria after 6 years and I am disappointed in this and many other hotels. I am not picky but expect a certain minimum standard of cleanliness in a hotel. I was given room 208 and on entering the hall way, there appeared to be what looked like a huge shaped mold or mark from water leakage on the ceiling of the 2nd floor. Absolutely disgusting. In my room, the bed was too soft and not at all comfortable for me. The bathroom was dirty, you could tell that it was cleaned on surface level, but there were many dirt marks from in the cracks and crevices of the bathroom from a lack of actual deep cleaning. The shower head was also dirty. I checked in at about 6PM and checked out for my next flight the following morning by 5AM So I did not get to see much with daylight. But it is disappointing to see that a hotel of this nature, that obviously pays staff to clean, does not ensure that cleaning job is inspected for deep cleaning. In a short while, a lot of those molds and dirt in the bathroom will become permanent. Please do better.

My stay was in two parts. I left and returned due to the amazing service I received the first time, which I didn't get at the other hotel I checked into. The staff were brilliant in their job and always have a smile on their face, from the receptionists to the cleaners. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're visiting Ikeja Lagos.
