Upon walking in the front doors, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from the staff at the desk. Without hesitation, we were escorted to a seating area, served green tea and went through the check-in procedure. The ambiance of the hotel demonstrated it's previous luxurious position, with comfortable leather seats and an impressive view of the waterfall, gardens and ponds - very memorable. The room - each with its' own extremely large shoe area / entrance which is separated from the room, showed the class of this establishment and what it must have been like in its' hay-days. Nonetheless, it is still impressive. As too the room, which was very large with its' own enclosed balcony sitting area where we enjoyed drinks while the kids fed the carp / massive gold-fish from the balcony - another really enjoyable moment. The onsens on the property are very large too, with indoor and outdoor baths to be enjoyed - and at night it is a real treat! Parking was not an issue with a massive outdoor area to park in, but we asked and were able to park right in front of the hotel doors! This made it easy to transport bags and kids :-) All in all, this was a great place with all the amenities of a large hotel. We had our own bar fridge, hot-pot for water, bathroom and more than enough room to swing a cat without doing any harm. The staff were great and the sleep too.
