We had an amazing one night stay. We had a room with a rock garden and open air bath. It was absolutely gorgeous with a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji. The dinner and breakfast were excellent quality and Keiseki Style. The staff was wonderful and helpful at every turn. We also took advantage of the large hot spring baths and the book able private onsen.
We have the Japanese style with private onsen. We loved it! Wished the check out time was a little later but that view is spectacular! Memories for a life time !
Located on the banks of Lake Kawaguchi, with magnificent views of Mt Fuji. Our room had a partially outdoor bath with a nice view of the mountain. Room was functional and spacious. Extra mattresses and pillows provided. Kaiseki breakfast and dinner provided in the dining room that overlooks the lake were scrumptious. From the hotel, we walked along the banks of the lake to spectacular places including Mt Fuji Ropeway, Yamanashi Gem Museum and the Kawaguchiko Music Forest. Highly recommended.
Our stay was very peaceful and the staff were very kind and explained the hotels process clearly. Very quiet area on the lake with a Lawson and 7/11 about 10-20 minute walk if you are wanting snacks!
This hotel is located by the Kawaguchiko lake. It offers unparalleled views of both Mount Fuji and the Kawaguchiko lake. The hotel is located in a quiet area about 10 minutes drive from the train station.
We booked traditional Japanese room with Mount Fuji view and outdoor private bath. The room was very spacious with a separate tatami area, terrace and a private bath. And there was a full unobstructed view of Mount Fuji 🗻. It was sublime and breathtaking. I cannot imagine there could be a better view from a hotel room.
Our check-in process was smooth. The staff member spoke good English, escorted us to our room and introduced the features of the room. Throughout our stay the staff at reception and in the restaurant were welcoming and attentive.
Public onsen was great. It featured one indoor and two outdoor pools with partial Mount Fuji views. A wide selection of facial and hair products was a nice addition.
Dinner and breakfast were served kaiseki style in a restaurant on the second floor. The restaurant served a wide variety of exquisite traditional Japanese dishes including various types of grilled fish.
We had an absolutely wonderful time in this hotel enjoying our private bath, public onsen and strolls by the lakes.
The receptionist did not allow me to keep my luggage in the hotel until the lifting of the hotel front road block due to the Mt. Fuji Marathon Run. I had to argue to explain how difficult it was for me to carry all my luggages after the run with the road block still in force. There was no consideration on the patron runner from the hotel which was mean and should not be allowed to happen. I will never stay in your hotel again.
Went for a 2 day stay couldnt eat there on the same day and restaurant was already fully booked for a reservation on the next day, no microwave in the hotel and no restaurant unless walking about 25-30 minutes in the dark with no sidewalk.
After traveling and exploring the bustling areas of Ueno park, Ginza, and Odaiba, it was nice to be somewhere tranquil and quiet. My partner and I were happy with coming to this place where nature is plentiful. The public baths were extremely soothing, and we found our stay restful. The hospitality of the staff was warm and welcoming, and it was nice to be next to Lake Kawaguchi so we can bike to the Maple Corridor. Overall, it was a great experience for our first trip to Japan and we’d love to come back to Lakeland Mizunosato in the near future!
It’s a nice traditional style accommodation if you don’t mind it is aged.

Great experience with vegetarian options
It was an amazing experience to stay here with some caveats- the condition is old but clean. And also it’s a little far from town so I wouldn’t recommend staying here more than two nights unless you have a car. The meal service as others have mentioned was a little adventurous for an American palette. However they did accommodate vegetarian/vegan with some notice and it was very tasty.
Love the dinning experience in the hotel. Delicious and lots of food. Great staff and have the shuttle service are the plus. Like the hotel next to the beautiful park. This is our second time staying in the hotel
The property gave off bad vibes from the start. The lobby was almost completely dark when we arrived. It made the whole place feel like a liminal space or an abandoned building. The lights were off multiple other times we visited the lobby. This is a simple fix please make the entry to the hotel more inviting!
The room was not very clean, for example the air conditioning unit appears to have never been dusted at all. The sink countertop was stained and old, and in need of replacing.
The room had bad sound insulation so we could both hear our neighbours, people in the corridor and more importantly the elevator noise was clearly hear through the whole unit every time either elevator moved. This was worse when you are on a futon trying to sleep and you can hear it even more clearly through the floor.
The internet was terrible to the point of barely existing. I could not even load videos at 144p for long stretches of time. It also did not have a password and was thus not secure. This is easy to fix, it is 2024 you can easily get good internet and basic security.
The staff were professional but very cold. Something seemed off about them and it seemed like a sense of smugness and superiority from them.
The outdoor heated bath and the views of Fuji were the only highlights but you are paying a huge premium for them.
