This hotel was a hidden gem. The friendly bar downstairs was lively and inviting when we arrived. Got into the room and we were so happy with the space. The bed was comfy and the washroom and shower were perfect!

I have stayed in this hotel several times this by any means does not reflect how it is always. Just this particular room. There should be some kind of disclaimer that there are no windows in this room or rooms in the center of the building. There are wall patches unpainted and you can hear people walking up and down the stairs all night.

The restoration of this circa 1881 property is impressive And the main bath could be featured and Dwell. Check-in could be a problem if you arrive after the restaurant on the property closes as there’s no dedicated lobby/check-in

Nice accommodation. We were worried about noise from the bar below that some have reported in their reviews. Thankfully that was not our experience. Nice downtown location. You must be able to do stairs to stay here.

The building was historic, but the room updated, large and clean. Check in was in the restaurant (a really good one) on the main level. The bartender was ready, alert and thorough in every measure. Parking was city parking. Adjacent building. Not cheap, but that is true of all of Guelph. Careful if you have trouble with stairs as there is no elevator— but otherwise a great experience and we will come back.

Somewhat troubling that there didn't seem to be anyone in charge of the hotel portion of the building. The sign on the hotel's entrance directed me to go into the bar on the main floor and it turns out that the very nice bartender checked me in. In the event of an emergency I would have no idea how to contact anyone and didn't feel particularly safe.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It's was a really comfortable room and kitchenette, in a beautifully renovated building, well-appointed for my purpose of needing to take the bus from Guelph the following morning. It was a very safe and secure property too. There were ample restaurants and bars with great variety, and a large mall within minutes on foot.

There is no staff on site you have to go.to.the restaurant next door to sign in with the hostess. Staff super friendly and helpful. Very small but quent and quiet location. Close to all walking amenities. Value for your money.

Had a fantastic stay at the Western Hotel in Guelph! The historic charm of the building, combined with modern amenities, made for a comfortable and memorable experience.. The room was clean and well-appointed, and the on-site dining was delicious. A perfect blend of tradition and comfort—highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guelph!
