Your very own stretch of sand-and-pebble shoreline awaits just across the lawn from this waterfront home, beautifully set on the edge of Puget Sound in Kingston. It's a place to see otters swim at sunrise, watch the ferry come and go, and take in the scene from your back deck that spans the length of the house.

This two-story home sits on the banks of Appletree Cove, the calm inlet of Puget Sound where ferries to and from Seattle and Edmonds dock. The bayfront setting is quiet and lovely, with east-facing views of the morning sunrise. You'll be an easy stroll from the heart of charming downtown Kingston, including the ferry dock and darling restaurants and shops within half a mile.

Summer days on the Kitsap Peninsula are for playing in the sand on your private beach, rinsing off in the outdoor shower afterwards, and barbecuing on the Expert grill out back. Gather for an alfresco meal at the picnic table or up on the elevated deck, recline on the patio as your kids play tag in the grass, and roast marshmallows around the firepit once the evening air turns cool.

Inside, the main living space is on the second floor - lined with windows, warmed by a gas fireplace, and full of sunlight and views of the water. It's a delightful spot to cook, play board games at the farm table, stream your favorite movies, or even catch up on a bit of work at the desk. Bonus features of the house include a family room and a laundry room on the ground floor. Of the bedrooms, two are upstairs (including one with direct deck access) and three are downstairs.

Casual elegance made this house perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We fit 13 people around the table and found more than we thought possible in the kitchen for every type of meal and occasion. There are plenty of separate spaces for a big group to spread out and enjoy the beautiful landscaping and stunning waterfront. Tania goes out of her way to make sure guests are happy and comfortable, down to the last thoughtful detail. I give this property my highest recommendation, and my family would love to return!

Incredible!
Our large family group had a fabulous long weekend at this incredible property. We also rented their house next door, and between the two spots, there were plenty of different places for everyone to be. We played on the large lawn, swam in the cove, and enjoyed sitting on the various decks to watch the herons and the boats coming and going. The house had everything we needed and more. The host could not have been more hospitable or easier to work with and we will absolutely be back!

We enjoyed swimming and beach combing, games in the big yard and inside the large house. Cooked many family meals in the well furnished kitchen.

Amazing
This property was a dream! Airy, beautiful, spacious, and a fantastic outdoor space for relaxing or exploring the water. The owner was highly responsive and lovely to work with. I had my wedding in Kingston, and I couldn’t imagine a better atmosphere to host my friends and family from out of town. Everyone was blown away! Thank you for an unforgettable experience! 10/10

A 3 Star House in a 5 Star Location
Our family had a wonderful stay at the "red house" July 17-24, 2023. While we loved the location of the home and the set up, it does not match the online listing very well. There are not 4 full bathrooms. The 4th bathroom is a half bath outside the back of the house. The outside shower is around the front of the house next to the garage and was basically unusable. The next thing of concern is the "no cleaning fee" in the main title. We were charged a $300 cleaning fee. The water is not warm when the tide comes in for swimming as advertised. Nobody swam even though it was very hot each day. There are also jellyfish in the water, making it unsafe even if water was warm. The positives: Since there was a fire ban and the local kayak place had moved to North Carolina, the owner was very gracious and had 4 kayaks there for us to use. They were also very responsive to a couple of maintenance needs, because it was clear that routine maintenance had not been done in awhile.

Perfect for our stay
Our family has taken a family vacation together for 20 years. This year there were 12 of us and the house suited our needs perfectly. The yard was great for our two young grandchildren 7 and 11. They also had fun collecting sea glass and finding little crabs. We all enjoyed watching the Osprey hunt early evenings. Wednesday night we walked one block to the live music in the park which was excellent. Very safe neighborhood for walking. Best house we have rented in our 20 years. thank you very much

Beautiful view, beautiful home!
This home was the perfect place for our family vacation to the Seattle area. The house was well-stocked and clean. We loved the location: we took the ferry to Seattle a couple of times and visited/shopped locally in the nearby towns. Friendly, responsive owner. We would love to stay here again! Highly recommend!

Great house
Great setup for our family. Accommodated a lot of people without getting cramped. Very clean and had lots of kitchen tools, plates, glasses etc. Close to town and to the wedding venue. Beautiful setting on the water. Great fire pit. Son and nephew used it to cook crabs and oysters but didn’t share!!:.

Great spot, right on the water
Great place, great location, plenty of space. Check in was easy, communication with Tania was great, she was very responsive. The property is right on a inlet, it has a terrific yard, perfect for playing all sorts of games. The inside is quite spacious. We had 15 people there and privacy was easy. The common areas are open and fun to hang out in. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. My mother, who is 92, said it was the best stocked kitchen she had ever seen in a rental. The ferry, town, and cafes are a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommended!

Perfection on the water
One of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed at!! The property is stunning, pictures do not do it justice! The views from almost every room in the home are incredible! We had so much fun paddle boarding when the tide was in and combing the beach for “treasures” when the tied was out. We loved that the home was such a short walk into town, which made daily walks for coffee and crepes a must! The home was very well stocked with everything you might need from cooking spices to sunscreen! Tania is a such wonderful host! She checked in via text though out our stay to make sure we were comfortable and made the check in/out process seamless. We loved everything about our stay here and can not wait to return!

Wonderful waterfront vacation home
This lovely, well-maintained home just a few blocks from the Kingston ferry terminal was perfect for our multi-generation family of 11 -- six adults and five kids. Spacious and comfortable, great kitchen for turning out family meals, water views from almost every room, very responsive owner. The kids spent hours rowing a dingy around in the bay and playing badminton in the beautiful yard lined with fruit trees and blackberries. Their parents and grandparents spent hours enjoying the view on the deck and patio that spans the full length of the two-story home. The youngest child announced that she wanted to live there forever and never go home again. Pretty much says it all.

Pre-Wedding celebration House
This was the perfect home for my daughter's pre-wedding festivities. The host graciously approved an outdoor rehearsal dinner on their spacious, grass yard for the wedding party the night before their Port Gamble wedding. The bridesmaids stayed at the house together that evening, waking up early to have their hair and make-up done. The photographer arrived to take pictures of the bride with her bridal party in the beautiful backyard of this stunning house. The house has everything you could want and need, and the view of the water and the Kingston ferry is spectacular. It couldn't have been any more perfect. And it's only a 12 minute drive to the Port Gamble Hood Canal Vista Pavilion. My daughter had 10 bridesmaids, and the home easily accommodated them all. I would highly recommend this property for a family reunion or large gathering. It is perfectly suited with every amenity you could ask for, and the host was very accommodating and communicative and a dream to work with. This is the best place and don't miss the opportunity to stay here! You will not be disappointed!!

Beautiful Home with Stunning Views
This was a perfect stay for our group! The house had tons of natural light, great communal space, a huge lawn, and beautiful views of the harbor. We only had adults this trip, but it was well appointed for kids as well and the easy access to the beach at low tide would be perfect for young kids. Highly recommend!

Great location for city and adventuring
Definitely enjoyed our stay here. It was an easy walk to downtown Kingston for the ferry to Seattle, but also put us that much closer to Olympic National Park and all the outdoor activities there. We enjoyed sitting on the large back deck almost every evening watching kayakers, paddle boarders as well as the occasional bald eagle or osprey grabbing fish out of the bay.

We stayed at this house with a group of women reunited for a long weekend in the PNW. Our stay in Kingston was wonderful. Tania is a great host, she communicated throughout the rental process and made sure we had everything we needed. Although the weather didn't cooperate, the gorgeous views and great location to the town and ferry made up for the rain. We will definitely be back!
