The rooms were dated, the restaurant was closed as well as the pool. I was notified that the pool would be open as of Aug 5 however it was still closed during my dates. This hotel has no amenities, so your only option is to sit in your room. A standard room with balcony was an extra $37 USD per night which I declined. The location is sketchy and is surrounded by prostitutes. The cleaners and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The "free" breakfast only had bacon or pork as a meat option and unfortunately I don't eat pork. I will never stay at this hotel again - management needs to be replaced!

Low budget hotel with a high price
This hotel needs to lower the price as well as the stars. The restaurant and the pool are “under construction”. The room had no body wash and we were given face wash to compensate. They need to renovate and update the entire hotel. Then they wanted to charge extra for Jamaican breakfast. That should be complimentary since the restaurant is under construction. I will not be staying here again.

We selected this hotel because of its amentities: a good restaurant and a rooftop pool and bar Once we got there, not of it was available tonus because of either an "earthquake" or remodeling.

The overall stay was great, apartment absolutely gorge, my only disappointment is there was no pool access (which was a shocker, as my Daughter was really looking forward to this) and no dinner option, also no entertainment..(that was weird), the proximity to all things important was definitely a plus..the staff was exceptional and definitely deserved to be commended, especially Glenville and Kapil, these gentlemen went above and beyond..aside from the 3 disappointing things mentioned, it was a WONDERFUL STAY!!!!

Room was nice and clean. Furniture a bit outdated. Hallway carpets look like they’ve never been cleaned. Hand soap and body wash bottles were empty. Large empty bottles fixed to bathroom wall. Half used disposable conditioner and shampoo. The breakfast was lovely. Staff/ customer service was excellent.

The staff were very curteous,attentive and helpful.I truly enjoyed my stay. The pool and dining areas were temporarily closed for rennovations. We were advised of same prior to our arrival however and this was the only draw back i would speak of. Thank you R Hotel for a lovely time!

The overall experience was just ok. After I paid for a non-refundable stay at the hotel, I received an email that "the pool would not be available until the 5th" (the day after I was leaving. It is unfortunate that we were vacationing in Jamaica and didn't have any access to a pool. When we checked in, they then told us that food would only be available during breakfast, and one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was because someone told us that the food was great. Lastly, our television did not work the entire stay. The night before checking out, we called the front desk for the location of the ice machine and help with the TV. They communicated that they would send someone up to the room for both requests, but unfortunately, no one ever came. I think that this stay at the R could have been great if the incidents that I previously mentioned had not taken place.
