Mostly Good But...
We had a wedding to attend in the area and booked a room here for 2 nights. 1. I booked early because it was promoted as "reserve now & pay later". Much to my surprise, payment was taken immediately upon making the reservation. 2. Nowhere in the description did it mention you have to pay a nightly rate for parking. It's less than $10/night but considering the room cost, it should be free. 3. The hotel is well kept. It's clean and bright, the staff are pleasant & helpful. 4. Continental breakfast was typical. "Hot" food choices were barely warm. 5. Room was a good size, clean, bright. Towels were small and rather thin. While we were pleased overall, I do feel it was expensive considering its location (blocks from the 401) behind a gas station and across the street from a small shopping plaza. I have stayed in far nicer places for less $/night.

The night staff was friendly which made checking in pleasant. There were a few issues with the room. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the deadbolt door lock was broken. There was a lighter on the sofa and the desk lamp was turned on. The washroom counter had toothpaste around the surrounding the sink. Plus there were a few hairs on the floor. I brought this to the attention of the morning staff on duty as I was checking out. Normally, I find Holiday Inn as a good, reputable hotel, no matter which city you stay in. However, this time I was not impressed at all.
