Wonderful Home but needs some maintenance
Beautiful location on the marsh with large windows to enjoy. Check in was delayed twice (late notification), AC was broken for 1st evening and most of 2nd day (93 degree temps). Inside was nice and clean but outside (front and back) could definitely have done with a good clean.

The house was dirty and moldy.
Vrbo was not much help in resolving the issues. They refer you to Vacassa. Vacassa does not answer the phone in the US, you get someone in a 3rd world county cannot make a decision. I would avoid Vacassa properties.

Beautiful marsh views and wonderful family space
Wonderful stay. Would highly recommend. Used to care only about the beach but now I realize a waterfront marsh/river view is even better. The sights and sounds of wildlife, including dolphins passing through daily, along with the every changing landscape of marsh tides, make every waking moment in the home an enjoyable one. Screen in porch and spacious open deck are key, and wall to wall windows are key. The home is very comfortable and up to date enough, though those looking for totally upscale and brand new may be slightly disappointed. Hardwood in main area is old, but I don't look at that as a problem--after all, people are coming in from the beach and so new pristine flooring wouldn't make much sense. However, bedrooms and bathrooms were very up to date and master bathroom especially new, expansive and well appointed--with view of marsh to boot! I felt like it was just right. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. Even had an electric tea kettle. Also loved the access to extra boogie boards and carts and the outdoor water source to shower off. We had already purchased a pull cart with hitch to bike our stuff to the beach, but perhaps the carts they provided would have worked for that. Only about a 5 min ride to the boardwalk. Also location has easy access to shaded bike/walking trails, but even running along the neighborhood roads was pleasant with all the trees, lagoons, and wildlife. Check out the Marsh View Tower very nearby and the trails that extend from there.

Kiawah 60th birthday
My wife and her identical twin turned 60, and their sister also shared the same birthday. We all stayed in the house on the very interesting marsh side on the perfect spot. Things are always changing with the tide in and dolphins feeding, and the tide out and other critters eating. Days were filled with riding bikes on the shaded bike path out to the ocean course or the other way to Freshfields. Or biking directly across the island to the most perfect beach access. Nights included cooking in or going for dinner and drinks in Charleston, one of the best cities in the country! Utopia.

Wonderful getaway!
The layout of the house is nice with lots of living area. The MBR is in a separate part of the house from the other 2 bedrooms; that is a nice feature. The screened porch is wonderful with awesome views. The kitchen is well stocked too. It was a wonderful getaway!

Incredible view
It rained most all of the week we were there, but we enjoyed the view so much from the house, as well as bike rides and cool beach walks. The layout is fantastic for families with older, independent kids. We loved the location on west beach. Thank you!

Great Views of the Marsh
I booked this house for a family vacation to the beach at Kiawah Island, SC. The house was spacious enough for the 5 of us and could have slept 1-3 more comfortably. The back deck had panoramic views of the marsh which were fantastic and the high point of the house. I docked this rental 1 star due to the beach accessibility. There are multiple boardwalks on Kiawah island but they don't really have parking available. The house is just far enough that it would be a pain to carry all of beach gear (chairs, umbrella, cooler). We ended up having one person drop everyone off with our beach equipment at boardwalk 10 and then take a bike back to the beach. Not a big deal but in the future we would likely book a house that's closer to the beach. Recommend the spa at the sanctuary as well as dinner/drinks at the ocean course (Ryder Cup bar or Atlantic Room).

It was a great location -- on the marsh, near the beach, close to shopping, and just 30 minutes to Charleston -- and all that city has to offer.

Great view, but everything else suffers
The view of the marsh is special - everything else, from beginning to end, was well below par. Here are the issues: 1. Never received pass for island entry (luckily had a friend that has property that called one in). 2. The TV & internet did not work when first arrived - had to call Vacasa at least 3 times and finally I had to be the one to meet the cable repairman to put in a router (other was missing). 3. The kitchen is poorly equipped - what I would expect at lesser quality beach locations. 4. The house smelled - we purchased a couple of candles to help. 5. Half bath electricity/lights never worked even though we called at least 3 times. 6. Downstairs smoke detector was missing batteries - Vacasa, after a couple of calls, dropped off some new batteries for me to install. 7. Outside decks (front & back) are in very poor shape and need to be replaced. 8. Screen porch cushions were dirty - we had to cover with towels to sit on them. 9. Speaking of towels, some had holes in them and others were very thin & ratty. 10. Outside door to screen porch was missing its door knob. 11. TV's are too small. There are probably some other things that I have missed. These items may seem like piling on but when you get no response from Vacasa, you tend to start looking around at things more closely. Be assured that none of this is an exaggeration, though. Finally, the view is fantastic. I would not rent this house again (unless I know it was remodeled) and I would not rent from Vacasa, again.

Great Location, not very clean
I absolutely loved the location of this home. The views were breathtaking. We saw dolphins and lots of other wildlife. The home had not been cleaned well The refrigerator and freezer were dirty. Many of the hard surfaces were covered in dust and sand. The ceiling fans and light fixtures were also covered in dust. The air filter was overdue to be changed and we ended up changing it ourselves with the spare filters in the laundry room. I called to to express my concerns about the home not being cleaned well, and I was told they would send someone to clean the home again. I'm positive no one came, even when we left out for the beach. This would have easily been one if my best vacation experiences if the house had just been cleaned better.
