This grand and luxurious home was built between 1911 and 1913. In 1918, Thor and Bertha Koppang purchased the home. This family was the owner of Kalispell's first Ford automobile dealership. By 1919, the dealership had sold more than a thousand Fords and their home reflected their success. This home contains rich history seen in the handcrafted wood trim, custom built ins, leaded glass doors, maple wood flooring, and intricate ceiling details. All representing a less common, very high end style designed for entertaining. The kitchen is nicely renovated with bright cabinets, quartz countertops, and high end appliances. A gracious sized living room with the comfort of a wood-burning fireplace, and a nice family room area with a sleek framed smart tv. The formal dining room is ideal for a classical family dinner or grab a seat at the bar for a friendly casual dining experience. Upstairs contains three grand bedrooms with dressers for storage, and a quaint twin sized sleeping area. There is a full bathroom with fine details within easy access to all bedrooms, in addition to a half bathroom off the end of the kitchen on the main level. In the basement you will find a carefully and uniquely crafted pool table and a nice size room that holds to the in-house washer and dryer. You will have access to the extravagant back yard that leads you to the covered parking area alongside the historic carriage house.
This neighborhood is located just on the side streets of downtown Kalispell. It contains many homes with similar historic charm. Within a 5 minute walk from downtown restaurant's and shops. Just a couple blocks from the must see Conrad Mansion. It is also within walking distance of Woodland park, which contains a duck pond, gathering pavilions, outdoor water park, hockey rink, and playground.
Within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, breweries, wineries and boutique shopping. Parking in the back is accessible from the alley. There is parking under the carports on both sides of the carriage house. Be aware that the carports are mid-size or smaller vehicles because of height. Otherwise, parking in front of the house on the street is available. All parking downtown is free of charge.
