Kangarutha Cottage is situated on the edge of tall coastal forest. The Kalaru to Tathra bike path is accessable from the property gate giving easy access to town (1.6km), or the mountain bike trails, either on foot or by bike.
The Farm (100HA) offers great walks, picnic spots, Hidden Lakes and wildlife. Our property trails lead into Bournda National Park.

The Cottage is cosy, (sleeps 4) with 1 main queen bedroom and a small bedroom with 1 or 2 singles ( or 1 King when joined) and one bathroom in the main building - all linen is supplied. Cook up a treat in the large well equipped kitchen or on the Weber BBQ in the covered courtyard. Relax and enjoy the country view from the loungeroom . There is an option of a wood heater or reverse cycle heating/cooling.

A tennis court and basket ball ring will keep the kids busy.
The house is surrounded by established fenced gardens. so up to 2 dogs are welcome.(no pups thanks)

An adjoining ‘lodge’ , accessed by a covered walkway has another queen bedroom with attached bathroom plus a second bedroom with 2 long singles that can zip into a king bed. All linen is supplied. The Lodge also has a lounge area with basic TV couch and stacked extra chairs if needed. Ask us for further details. This area sleeps 4 and would suit a second family or grand parents.

Horses are agisted on the property and it is possible to bring your own horse for a daily fee - contact us for information

Kangarutha Farm is just 1.6 km km from Tathra and all it has to offer. Visit the old Steamer Wharf as well as cafes, clubs, essential shops and National parks nearby. Check out the Beautiful Bega Valley and Mimosa Rocks NP or we can help you arrange a kayak experience on the Bega River with its hidden secrets or a guided walk along the Bournda NP Kangarutha Trail .

Our family of 2 adults 2 kids and dog loved our stay at Kangarutha cottage in Kalaru. The cottage is well maintained and fully equipped with everything you will need. Kids loved riding their bikes and playing tennis on the tennis court. The beds were comfy and the location is peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous gardens and lots of wildlife. Great location 5 mins drive to Tathra, 15 mins to Bega. We look forward to staying again.

Cosy and Quiet
We stayed a week and glad we did. The cottage is in a great location with surrounding bush and farm land. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. The slow combustion fire kept us warm at night and the bedding is comfortable, The location is quiet and peaceful, and communication with the hosts was excellent. Thank you for having us stay, and we will definitely be back.
