The location was in the woods, which we wanted, and the host was responsive to our inquiry.
Unfortunately, beyond that, we were not impressed. There was a strong musty smell on the bottom floor, there was dog hair everywhere, and the floor felt like it hadn't been swept. The yard is neglected with the walls of an old swimming pool standing but empty. The sauna was there but not easily usable, and there were nails sticking up through the deck that you walked on to get there. There was a wasp/hornest nest on the wall behind the hammock.
By far, the most frustrating part of the trip was being charged an extra fee for a dog urine smell on a blanket that their cleaners couldn't get out. We were charged about 2 hours after we left, which is hardly enough time to run a load through a washer and dryer, and more importantly, we don't have any pets. When we challenged the fee VRBO, they went back to the host, who said that it must have been from one of our children. Our youngest is 12.
The house is up for sale, and ultimately, we got the impression that the host has given up doing more than the minimum while they wait to sell it.
