The historic Carriage House at Fountain Place includes a roomy but cozy, private 2 bedroom apartment overlooking Cascadilla Falls in Ithaca, New York. Only a short walk to Downtown Ithaca and close to Cornell University. Includes a kitchenette, two living areas, two additional sofa beds, office space, two full bathrooms, TV, and ample storage space.
Only a short walk from Downtown Ithaca, bustling with artisanal shops, four star restaurants, an art movie theater, and several different live theatres. The apartment overlooks the Gorge Trail at Cascadilla Falls, which takes you up to Cornell University's beautiful campus.

Great location; great communication
We enjoyed being able to walk from the property to the Cascadilla Gorge Trail (don't miss it!) and to the Ithaca Common. The host was very gracious and extremely responsive to communication. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is small, but it was adequate to meet our needs for a few days.

Could have used more paper products (tissues, napkins, paper towels) and a few plastic bags for kitchen items, mainly food leftovers. Otherwise clean, attractive, comfortable, and convenient.

Property is nice and as advertised. Close to Ithaca college, which was our reason for for staying in the area. Lots of room for our family of three. Very quiet and the gorge in the back is pretty. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore the area and the weather wasn't conducive to walking to any restaurants.

Easy walking distance to Cornell Law and Ithaca Commons, and a short drive to various hikes and waterfalls, this very well appointed and generously sized apartment is perfect for a 2+ day visit.

Great location for a visit to Cornell
Spacious and well-located. it was an easy walk to the Ithaca Commons and the Cascadilla trail. There was a short but rather steep uphill path to the campus and College Town businesses. Plenty of parking. The unit itself is a little odd, consisting of two contained one-bedroom units that connect through their TV/seating areas. Once we sorted it out, the layout worked well for our group of four people. The only real challenge for us was the single kitchen, which has minimal counter space and was tough to use: we had planned to shop for groceries and eat in the unit, but instead wound up eating out because it was so difficult to make a meal for the whole group. Great communication with the manager.

Nice Location; Lots of Room
We rented the two bedroom property and it was HUGE. Because it can be rented as one bedroom (A or B), there were two large living areas with TVs. Both bedrooms had TVs and the inclusion of ROKU gave us lots of options on things to watch. The beds were very comfortable and there were pillows to choose from from hard to soft so we slept well. The building is an old building and has some of the foibles of such--very damp inside, although a dehumidifier helps a bit with that. The location was perfect for us--a short walk down the hill to restaurant row and a short walk to my sister's house who we were visiting. I do wish that the falls had been more visible--there is lots of growth around this property but you could still see the falls if you looked through it. Certainly more space than we needed but the location was the selling point for us.

Incredible location with privacy
This was an absolutely wonderful place for a family of 4. The location was convenient and walkable to everything downtown, but there was still so much privacy being up in the hill with the woods. The view overlooking the gorge in the backyard is very relaxing and peaceful. The place was super clean, well stoked with necessities, and the hosts were extremely considerate and communicative. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back again!

Gorge-ous location!
We LOVED our stay! The place is spacious, well laid-out, and very comfortable (especially the king-size bed and the seating). And the location could not be better -- a five-minute walk to the Cascadilla Gorge, and if that's not close enough, you can walk behind the house and there it is! (There's no access from there, just to be clear.) It's also very convenient for the Commons, campus, and Collegetown. We recommend a daily pilgrimage to both Collegetown Bagels and the Cornell Dairy Bar. :) Finally, our hosts, and especially Vanessa, were also very accommodating to all our needs. We hope to be back soon!

Memorable Weekend in Ithaca!
Vanessa and Ryan are excellent hosts. Their Carriage House was the perfect place for my family to stay during the weekend of my daughter’s graduation. It was very clean, equipped with everything we needed to feel at home, and was in close proximity to Ithaca College, Ithaca’s Farmers Market, the Ithaca Commons, and the beautiful gorges and waterfalls in the area. I would highly recommend the Carriage House.

A Cosy Getaway
Loved it! We had an awesome experience. The house was roomy, clean, and comfortable. As my friend put it, we lived like kings. An aside: love the variety of bird species we saw outside the windows! Will definitely stay again the next time we visit Ithaca!

We loved our stay in the carriage house at Fountain Place. The apartment home was exactly as advertised, very roomy, comfortable and located perfectly in town. Clean, well kept with very responsive host. It’s very quite, tucked away on a dead end street, but close enough to walk to the commons or collegetown.
