8-day Enchanting Istanbul
Had a wonderful 7 nights stay at the Antusa Design Hotel in Sultanahmet area, Istanbul. The hotel is centrally located and just a short walk to the Sultanahmet square, Hagia Sophia, and Blue Mosque. The Sultanahmet and Gulhane tram stations are within walking distance too. The hotel I suspect was recently renovated as the room looks fresh and updated. And the room is of a decent size for hotels in the Sultanahmet area. Hotel has a rooftop terrace restaurant with a spectacular view of the Bosphorus, Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia, and offers a good spread of continental and Turkish food for breakfast. The best part of the stay was the staff from the front office to the housekeeping, and from the restaurant manager to the wait staff. Every staff was so hospitable and professional in attending to the guests. Wish to commend Hasan the restaurant manager at breakfast for his impeccable service.

This was our first time in Turkey, Antusa was everything we hoped for. Close to all the activities we wanted to do. Staff were amazing and friendly, we loved our room, felt safe. Restaurant staff were very hospitable, food was very delicious. Thank you Antusa for delivering on what I expected, over and above! We will visit again.

The Hotel is older - but, the staff truly make up for anything the building lacks - Hassan is an incredible asset to the Hotel - and the Front Desk Lead is tremendous.

Avoid room 111. It has a tiny patio but the only daylight for the room and patio comes from a hole in the pavement above the patio. As it’s on a hill the room is actually underground despite being in the first floor! Very dark and dingy. Weird experience

Conveniently location and Comfortable beds.
Hotel was adequate for us. The room was a bit small but the comfortable king sized bed made up for the lack of space. Our room had a window that overlooked the air shaft, ie no view. And the walls were pretty thin so I could hear other guests yelling. The view at breakfast was of The Hagia Sophia so that was a nice perk. The staff was helpful and the location of hotel was super convenient to all the attractions in the Sultanhamet area. The only minor annoyance was the strong scent that they have in the lobby—it was overwhelming and gave me a headache.

Location to the major Istanbul landmarks is what makes this hotel very likable plus the breakfast buffet at the top floor with the Hagia Sophia mosque in the background to add! The Basilica Cistern is just down the street. The Blue Mosque is about a 10 minute walk. The Grand Bazaar is about 15-20 minutes away by foot. The staff was very accomodating knowing this was our first stay in Turkey. They pointed out the places to visit, restaurants to try, shops to visit etc. Rooms are a bit small but clean. No musty mildew odour and seemed to be maintained. Will be staying here next time when we come back!

Exploded lightbulb, stains, rude front desk!!!
The room was weird. Blue lights and a sparkly wall (not in a good way). It looked like a club. There were paint stains and (unidentifiable) stains on tables and beds. The beds had human hair on them and the bathroom lightbulb exploded while I was there. I felt gross inside the room. The window was broken and the "forth bed" looked like a DIY project. It smelled weird and the front desk people are nice until you pay. They don't care about you after that. They must have bribed customers for the 5 star reviews. I left after 45 minutes and I would rather sleep on the street than in this hotel.

This hotel was a great find. The location was perfect. Historical sights and the tram line T1 were a maximum 7 minutes walk some even closer with no major uphill walk. The staff Hamdullah and Aydin were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast on the terrace level had lovely views and good choice. Hasan was always attentive and served with a smile. Would stay here again.
