Set back from the beach in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, Anchorage Cottage is a spacious bungalow with a view across the bay to Holy Isle. It has a good sized, enclosed garden that is right round the cottage and features a fantastic decking to the front, facing east towards Holy Isle. The driveway from the beach is only 50 yards long, so you can be walking on the sand in a minute or so after leaving the cottage. Entering through the front door from the large decking area, which also has a door onto it from the living room. Once inside the property you have a spacious hallway. The good sized living room is comfortable for the whole family to relax in after a long day exploring the island. It has sea views and Holy Isle is standing proud in the distance. As mentioned, there are French doors that lead onto the decking where you can enjoy al fresco meals as it is wonderfully sheltered. Beyond the living room is the large kitchen/dining room with everything you need for cooking up hearty meals throughout the year. Leading from the kitchen is a large utility room with door to the garden, and also the garden room which is triple-aspect, with a TV/DVD player.
Lamlash is possibly the prettiest village on Arran and only a short drive from the island capital of Brodick. There is a golf club and yacht club in Lamlash, and the opportunity to take a wee ferry across to Holy Isle for an adventure back in time. Being based in Lamlash means you can explore this brilliant island very easily. Known as Scotland in miniature, you can see dramatic coastlines, mountain peaks, beautiful beaches and majestic forests all in one day. It has an amazing food scene and there are distilleries for to sample a local drink or two. Even though close to the mainland and not far from Glasgow and Edinburgh, Arran feels like it is a world away. A stay at Anchorage Cottage will make you feel like you have truly escaped the hustle and bustle of modern life. Beach 50 yards. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
