Includes a paddleboat & aluminum fishing boat. A pontoon is available on nearby Big Bass lake, a 300 acre all-sports lake for rent if you like to explore the area. Located on Sauble Lake #1 (on a chain of 4 lakes,all accessable with the fishing boat or paddleboat).

For the Fishing and Canoeing/Kayaking enthusiasts - Just minutes from major West Michigan Rivers: Big & Little Manistee, Pere Marquette, Sauble and Tippy Dam for Steelhead, Salmon and Trout

Or out the backdoor is excellent fishing for bass, blue gill, perch and pike with small boat access to Sauble #2, 3 and 4.

Dublin Grocery store less than 12 miles away (famous for their jerky & fudge, with full hardware & grocery). Great week at a great place

What a location! Quiet and picturesque. Spent most of our time on the beach at the fire pit. Easy access to the Dublin Market and all the fun a great lake and the Manistee National Forest has to offer.

Peaceful and disconnected

The description of the house is spot on. It is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy time away from home. The lake is perfect for kayaks, the row boat and the peddle boat the host has. The fishing was good, we caught two good size Northern's and a few bass. Recommend you check it out. Priced perfectly.

Relaxation and fun awaits at this lovely spacious cottage!

We had four adults, two kids, 10 &16 yr old stay for a week to unplug, relax and make memories. The cottage is spacious and stocked with all you need, just bring your personal items, food drinks etc. It’s a great location for the ORV enthusiasts, close to rivers for kayaking or tubing and a quick easy drive to Ludington for a beach day or trip to Meijer. Fun was had by all, fishing, campfires, a great grill for cookouts, tons of games for game night and movies if you have a rainy evening.

Peace, Quiet and a Golden Who Loved the Lake

We really enjoyed the spacious deck, and the big windows facing the lake. Interestingly, my favorite moment was an evening thunderstorm that I could watch through theose beautiful moments. Wifi was spotty. That was the only thing missing for me.

Loved this cottage!

We love the serenity and abundance of nature activities at the cottage. Swimming was great, fishing was good, and the lake is excellent! We had the most fun we’ve ever had in Michigan! The cottage is lovely and well-equipped to handle all the fun we had. We will be back next year! Thanks for a great time!

Up north experience

House was spacios and clean. Lake is beautiful and fishing is great. I would mention that there 57 steps down to the lake( and 57 back up!). Makes it harder for older or handicapped people. Overall, very nice place to stay.

A little piece of heaven

We loved the serenity and peacefulness of our stay! A true beauty of nature. A bald eagle flew right by us on the dock, diving loons, and nice fishing. The owner is wonderful and has great communication. Very kind and accomodating. A great get away!

Peaceful stay!

Get up in the morning, no traffic sounds, no airplane sounds, just the sound of birds and squirrels to drink you coffee with. The deer meander through the yard, the loons calling out on the lake, occasional turkey. The fishing was very good, the accomodations are good. I don't have enough nice things to say about our stay. This is my second time. And the owner if very responsive!

Great spot for family vacation

We had a great time fishing, swimming and relaxing at the cottage. The house had lots of nice extras like toys for the kids and pool floats for the lake. It's a small lake with no wake rules so it was perfect for the paddle boats. My boys are 3 and 5 so the stairs down to the lake were a little nerve wracking at first but they got the hang of it quickly. It's about 45 min to Ludington state park which made for easy day trips. Would definitely stay again.

Spotted lantern fly caterpillars everywhere

With the trees between the house and the lake the sight and sound of caterpillar poop fills the porch. This is seasonally related but greatly impacted enjoyment of the property. We have a family of six with kids 3-8, and would not suggest this property for kids. The loft bedroom, not photographed, was too scary for them. The second bathroom in the unfinished basement down steep steps was not easier usable. The sand in the picture of the beach had been washed away, so no sand for playing. The lack of cell service, wif, and land line made the feel of a family vacation from 25 years ago. We did not have any intent of fishing. I feel this misaligned of our intended use and what the property is best at resulted in our experience. The area is nice, and all the businesses listed delivered good services for the remote location.

Fantastic relaxing family getaway

We spent the week with our teenage kids. The place was perfect!! Spacious. Clean. Everything in order. Plenty of seating. Beds comfortable. We floated in the lake. Fished and fished. Caught up on naps, knitting and reading. there are plenty of others around the lake but it is still quiet and secluded. It’s not a “no-motor” lake but minimal motors and mostly paddle or motorless boats. A couple pontoons. The house is fully stocked with dvds and games for rainy days or evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone.

Peaceful private vacation destination

As advertised, secluded cottage on no wake lake. North country hiking trail head within a mile of cottage. Four connecting lakes provided fantastic kayaking. The kids fished off the dock every day and annoyed countless hungry panfish. There was a rowboat in the property picture so we brought an electric motor and did some trolling, catching several good sized largemouth bass and one pike. There are 56 steps to the beach, and the swimming is better out past the dock end, but we agreed the natural beauty of the location, the bird watchers paradise, the hiking and kayaking, swimming and fishing were worth the cardio.

Beautiful, private escape

We truly enjoyed our week long stay in the cabin. Kitchen had all we needed and property was clean, and we enjoyed the paddle boat very much. Loved the privacy and seeing many deer in the area. It was a great vacation!

The listing pictures don't do it justice!

The best vacation I've had for a long time. Remote enough to disconnect and relax, but close enough to places like Ludington to do fun day trips. The house is wonderful and even better in person than pictures can show. The lake is serene and very quiet except for the hauntingly beautiful calls from the loons. What an amazing way to go to sleep and wake up! Communication from the host was excellent as well. There couldn't be an easier check-in/out process. It's in the woods so you're going to experience insects. Definitely bring repellant, but the mosquitos weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. We stayed mid June. My only regret with my rental experience is not booking two weeks. We hope to be back.
