for starters the house is not really meant for number of guests it supposedly holds. only 3 bathrooms. for our 25 guests to get enough linens in a locked closet i had to ask for code. futons in basement were dirty, basement super cold no extra blankets, only one outlet for six beds. spied on by neighbors, host contacted me twice about things we’d done wrong. not enough parking for number of guests it holds. the host’s suggestion was to park across the street at the grocery, and when asked about the safety concern of that and whether or not the grocery is ok with that he responded “i do it all over the country in my rv.” as a woman that did not reassure my safety. even if it is “just across the street” you have to walk through a parking lot and cross a busy street with no sidewalks to get back. (past a gas station that was robbed the night before we left!) you can also tell this house was purchased recently and flipped, as many things are just…not quite right. loose handles, janky locks, wobbly stools, some of the basement decor still had tags, that sort of thing. additionally, when asked about some accommodations for our jewish friend, host responding with “that’s above my pay grade, google it,” which was not helpful. spent the whole weekend wondering what would go wrong next, honestly.
