No frills but reasonable.
Rooms were big. Beds were acceptable. Breakfast could be better. We were in town to visit family so we only needed a place to sleep and shower. This placed accomplished that and it was affordable. We would stay here again.

Good buy
For it to be am older hotel its one of the best ones in southport. Ive been to all of them. On rhe budget side its perfect, its safe, breskfast a few feet away or across the street and the highway is right there. The room is ok for the night. It was clean. The workers were running around making us comfortable. Good parrking. If uou need a spot cheap, this is it. Pool is open and ice machines are clean. No smell in hallways, lobby is nice. Ive been here twice. Under 100 bucks

Stayed here for a few days with our dogs. The hotel charged us $25 per dog per day, and I really felt they didn’t want them there so not truly “pet-friendly”. The hotel is old but beds were comfortable.

Reserved 2 rooms a year in advance before prices jumped for Taylor Swift. The card I used at the time had since been compromised but since I chose to pay at the hotel I was going to give them a new card I wanted to pay with when we checked in. Someone from hotel called my number asking for the other person 1 of the rooms was under without ever identifying himself as being from Baymont. We did not understand him & said it was a wrong number which really it was. He never tried again & we thought maybe it was the hotel so we called back. He said the card I used to reserve the room declined & since I said it was a wrong number the ONE time he tried to call he had to cancel the reservation. I told him the card declined because I had a new number & asked why I couldn’t just give him the new number but he said it was too late. I asked him about our other room & he said he had it but he would have to cancel that one too because the card declined. I again said I had the new card number but he refused to take it & said I should have updated it in Expedia which isn’t an option after your reservation was made. They up & cancelled everything on us. We were still 2 hours away & it was a few hours before 3pm checkin. I have never had a hotel run a card before we arrived & aren’t there in person. Usually at check-in they ask for ID & card when you are IN PERSON. It made no sense other then they could turn around & rebook the rooms for $300 more under the Taylor Swift inflated prices.
