This spacious, tastefully decorated three level log home will bring you peace. With gorgeous views of snow capped front range peaks, including Mt. Evans, from the great room, bedrooms, and decks, it is easy to remember what life is all about. If you enjoy bird watching, plenty of visits by hummingbirds and other native birds that you will enjoy identifying.
The master bedroom is set off the great room on the second level, with a king sized bed, wood burning fireplace, and separate exit to the outdoor deck. Adjoining both the master bedroom and great room, you will find the most comfortable claw foot bathtub to soak your body after hiking or skiing in the surrounding areas. The kitchen is spacious with a granite countertop for food preparation or eating while sitting on the barstools. Alongside the kitchen is a dining area with a round table and enough chairs for the whole family. Most inviting is the great room with wood burning fireplace, a couch that you can sink into, and chairs surrounding a forged iron coffee table. In the evening, watch the colors change as the sun goes down, grilling on the deck while sipping your favorite drink. At night, enjoy stargazing. On the third level is a loft where you might kick back with a good book, watch a movie, turn on the stereo, or take a nap. If you really need to touch base with the Internet world, log onto the computer and get what you need. On the first level find two more bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed, the other with two bunk beds of Aspen log. Between these rooms is the bathroom with a whirlpool tub that fits two adults comfortably. For long trips, feel free to use the washing machine and dryer for a refresh. Exit the first level to the lower deck and swing on the antique ferris wheel chairs while you watch the chipmunks scamper across the wild landscape. If you bring children, they will enjoy the mountain clubhouse, nestled close enough to see from the kitchen window, but far enough to let the kids feel like they're isolated deep in the woods. Hike into the backyard, where deer and elk may be seen. While hiking look for mushrooms and old abandoned mines. Walk to the nearby lake for fishing or hiking. Snowshoe, or cross country ski to St Mary's Glacier, James Peak, and beyond. Miles of 4x4, hiking, and mountain biking trails are minutes away. Downhill ski areas close by are Loveland, Berthod Pass, Eldora, Winter Park, and the familiar Summit County areas. Only twenty minutes away is the town of Idaho Springs where you can pan for gold, river raft, zip line, or have a few fresh brews at the Tommyknocker Brewery or search for antiques in nearby Georgetown. If you get the bug, drive to Central City or Blackhawk via I-70, Highway 6, or even 4x4 off road. There you might enjoy sightseeing, the opera or try your luck in the many casinos.
