Great but Noisy

My family used the Zion GEM as a home base for exploring some national parks. It is a perfect location for venturing out to Zion, Great Basin & Bryce. The home was comfortable after some long days of hiking and had everything we needed to prepare some simple meals at home. The downside is the traffic noise, which can't be ignored. Had I read other reviews more carefully, I would have brought a white noise machine or similar.

That road noise is real

As indicated by the title, take the comments about road noise seriously. It would stop us mid-sentence at times. The house was next to a highway used by tractor trailers. 4 out of 5 stars because the house itself had what we needed for space and a place to crash. However, I don’t know that I’d stay here again. I would likely pay a little more and stay in Springdale to explore Zion next time.

Home away from home

The property was great and had every amenity that we needed. The dogs enjoyed checking out the neighborhood and meeting ponies for the first time! Sadly, the main reason for the trip (escaping illegal fireworks at home) was still a problem in Utah...

We had a great trip with our daughters. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and ready for us. The location was great for sightseeing and hiking. We would definitely come back again.

Gateway to the Parks and Mountain Bike Trails

This house is the perfect location for visiting Zion NP & Bryce Canyon NP. The mountain biking trails close as well, and my husband spent some time exploring those. We traveled with our dogs,- who loved having a fenced, backyard to romp and stretch their legs. The kitchen is well stocked, and we used the BBQ as well for meals. A perfect find for some southern Utah adventures!

Read before booking!!!!

Upon arrival we found the bedspreads and couch filthy. When I reached out to the Vacasa representative , I immediately asked for a full credit. I sent pictures of the bedding and couch (which was covered in hair, crumbs and fuzz). The best they could do was $115 credit for the cleaning. So many dead bugs, I swept the floor daily. I found a live roach in my suit case when packing to leave. We found a live ant in the bed the first night. The house sits on a very busy and loud street. There’s a reason the front of the house isn’t pictured. It needs painting and is unkept. Thankfully, we were gone most of the time hiking in the beautiful area. Very limited number of channels on the tv. The back bedroom is an addition and very hot compared to the rest of the home. The front lock is temperamental.

cozy and modern

The house was updated nicely and was stocked with household items. Full kitchen (dishes, pots & pans, coffee maker, crock pot, dishwasher etc. ) Both king size beds had very comfortable mattresses made with top-of-the-line bedding and 2 very nice down quilts. The bedrooms are separated nicely for privacy. 2 full baths appeared to be newly remodeled stocked with towels and a hair dryer in each one. Enclosed back yard kept my fur baby safe, equipped with an outdoor grill and furniture to enjoy the early evenings. Had an issue with the digital code to unlock front door... ended up with a single key from a spare lockbox. Wish we could have had at least 2 keys, but made it work. Would stay again .

Great little house close to biking

Very clean house. Fenced in yard. Grill worked great for cooking outside. Very close to biking. Lockable garage to store the bikes when not at the house. Comfortable living area for watching movies. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. The beds were very comfortable and the sleeper couch were great too.

Property was as listed. Nice back yard and newer furnishings. Good house for 2 couples. Perfect house if you are gone a lot doing things. Very loud traffic noise ,so outdoor time is limited.Great yard for pets.

Pleasant home base

This house was the perfect size and location for our plans of visiting family and all of the beauty the area has to offer. The house was spotless, well appointed, and cozy. There is traffic noise as mentioned in other reviews, but it did not affect our ability to rest and relax and it was fun to see the flora and fauna of the local community parade by. Overall, this location served our needs beautifully. It is perfectly placed for day trips throughout the region. Brilliant!

Next time we will try to rent from a private owner, not a corporation

Although this Vacasa property was nice and very well kept, I will think twice about renting one of their properties again. The great part about renting a home on VRBO is the connection you have with the property owner/manager if you have any questions at all about your stay or adjusting your check in/ check out times and dates. I spent over 25 minutes on hold through a 1-800 number to ask a simple question about our stay at this Vacasa property, a question that I typically would have had an answer from a private owner/manager within minutes. In fact, almost everything about this property had to be found out on their website, separate from VRBO.

Great location, would stay again

As another reviewer noted, this house does have noise from the highway as it is on the corner of a turn to connect to other destinations in Utah/Arizona. The house was as described and although the weather didn't allow for us to ride, it is situated very close to the local mtn bikes trails (the local shop is also literally across the street). The yard was perfect for our dogs and it was easy to walk them around the neighborhood. A day trip to Zion took about 30 min. The house was clean and had the essentials for our holiday stay. We would stay there again.

This house was perfect for us.

This house was perfect for us. It is a good house for dogs, nothing too expensive inside, so if we had to replace anything, we did not worry. The yard is safe and secure. It is on a buy corner, so if your are looking for a quiet get-away, thus would not be ideal. I give it 5 stars because it matched our needs perfectly! Clean and comfortable!

Perfect getaway

We were running the Zion half marathon and didn’t want to stay in a hotel room. We stayed in this home and loved it. It had a nice backyard and we brought our fur babies. They got to run around while we lounged post race in the sun. It was a central location and perfect for what we needed.

Incredible winter getaway

Loved staying here so much. They had everything we needed and more!! They even had chili powder, cumin, and oregano in the spice cabinet with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and canola oil. We were able to connect to the TV with our computers using the HDMI cables. The property was clean and super well equipped with everything we needed. It was close enough to Zion national park to make our day trips nice. Overall we loved staying here.

Wonderful home!

We throughly enjoyed staying at this property. The location was perfect for accessing everything and everywhere we wanted to go. We appreciated they allowed our dog as well so we could have our entire family with us. Very clean and well maintained. There is road noise so if you’re sensitive to sounds, bring a noise machine. We didn’t have a problem with it and all slept great.

Great location and very dog friendly

The house was set up perfectly for our dog. Comfy beds, clean, and great WiFi for working and school. Great location for hiking at red cliff conservation area and for Zion (30 min drive). Great food and groceries near by! Gave it 4 stars because it’s on a very busy main road. The back yard was great for our dog but impossible to sit out back because of the noise. The traffic noise was loud through the night as well. Bring ear plugs.
