Check in went ok, yes the rooms have been updated however you can still tell it’s a very old hotel, I wasn’t happy with finding a roach on the room door as I closed it, breakfast wasn’t all that good, which it wasn’t even ready at 6:45 so I grabbed a bowl of cereal, Elevator smelled like dog and the third hallway smelled really bad..

My first arrived to the location I was greeted the atmosphere smelled really nice way me and my husband walked in. The lady informed me because I had my puppy with me that I would have to pay a pet fee. I told her no problem so I proceeded to pay and she told me it would be $35 but she said she wasn’t able to do it for whatever reason and I could do it in the morning to check out. At about 8:45 I received a call I’m assuming from the young lady at the front desk did I need to pay the $35 now. Before she called I noticed that my card had tried to be run three times but I keep my credit cards on lock until I’m using them. I explained her that young lady told me yesterday that she wasn’t able to do it and I could do it when I checked out she said that was fine. About 15 minutes later someone else cause my phone asked me my name and I need to come downstairs and pay the pet fee. I told her that I would do it at checkout, but this time is like 9:15 in the morning and we check out at 11. She said the young lady who told me I could pay a check out on today was not the manager and she was the manager and and I need to come pay now. I understand I had to pay the $35 pet fee but it’s not what she said it’s how she was saying it. She was literally yelling in my ear so when I told her I would come down and pay a check out cause it was actually in the process of getting a check out early and head back home. She hung up in my face, very rude and very unprofessional.

I originally booked for 2 days and arrived and was in my room the first night when I received news that my father was in the hospital and not expected to make it. I immediately packed and made travel arrangements to the hospital. I requested a refund for my 2nd night and was refused by the management due to their strict cancellation policy. Very disappointed in their flexibility.

Loved that everything appeared new, although likely remodeled. Mattresses were new and very comfortable pillows were folded so you could keep them compact or make them longer and softer. Bathroom had new, nice surfaces & sink. Not crazy about modern square toilet seat with large opening...not sure a kid or skinny person would feel secure
