Great location
Right in centre of district 1, great for some of the main tourist sites. Staff were excellent and room very pleasant. Breakfast ok (nothing special), rooftop bar very small and disappointing when compared to other hotel rooftop bars in the locality.

Charming hotel located in the heart of D1 area. Not a new hotel but facility is kept up nicely. Friendly staff , decent breakfast. Only issue was intermittent construction noise during day time. Upgraded room I stayed was good size and I liked the separate shower and bathtub.

A couples getaway to a great and bustling city. This hotel had the amenities that was required for the stay. Close to a multitude of restaurants, walking distance to main attractions. Ideal spot for shopping. Staff weee amazing, polite and most helpful. Breakfast allowed for a choice to choose from.

This is a small hotel, but comfortable, convenient and clean. And the staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast restaurant is small but good.

This is a well designed and elegant small hotel in downtown HCMC. While it is in a noisy and congested area, it radiates a sense of calm and tranquility. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a problem with a cash machine eating my card and they made several phone calls for me to resolve it. They also helped print several documents and helped me to download and use the Grab app for travel within the city.

Excellent staff and superb room.
Staff very welcoming and friendly from start to finish. Room we had was superb. Breakfast had everything for everyone- Asian, western and anything in between. Definitely lots of good choices. Everyone was smiling and would gladly exchange pleasantries.

We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights at Au Lac Charner. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was delicious to come back to after our day trips. We made use of the rooftop pool, both during the day and in the evening. There was a wide selection of items available for breakfast and afternoon tea. Au Lac Charner is convenient and we started to think of it as "home." There is a money exchange just a couple of doors away (out and to the left) and a string of restaurants. We got a couple of very cheap pizzas from the place next door (out and to the right) on a two-for-one deal when we were all vietnam'd out and Thai food from a restaurant the other direction. This is a part of the city where Grab cars and bikes turn up very, very quickly. If you take a walk around the block the hotel is on, you can catch the Saigon vibe in just a few hundred metres. Great experience. We will be back!

Staff and location were great, but the property was disappointing to say the least. The room was really shabby and in bad need of updating. The door to the fridge was falling off the hinges. Shower over bath kept flooding the bathroom floor after a shower due to its poor design and I had to get the towels change each evening as I had to use every towel in the vicinity to mop up the flooded floor. No proper ventilation in bathroom so when using the toilet, it stunk out the bedroom and so much condensation after a shower. Aircon set at 21 degrees, the staff finally reduced to 20 degrees after I asked twice (it was 34 degrees outside with high humidity) also aircon control system was situated above the bedside locker and the light was directed directly towards my eyes during the night. No blackout blinds so the streetlights flood into the room while you try to sleep The pool was a good size and cool but cramped decking around it. I stayed in 6 different hotels during my stay in Vietnam all within similar price range, but this was quite apparent not up to standard in view of its price.
