The rooms and the grounds were beautiful and very clean! The breakfast was amazing! The staff were all extremely friendly and provided great dining and site seeing recommendations. Special nod to chef Craig! We will definitely return.

My husband and I headed to Healdsburg for an anniversary dinner. Neither have been in the area so we chose the Ruse due to its proximity to the restaurant. Upon entering the parking lot, we knew we would love it at the Ruse. The property is in immaculate condition. It was clean, quiet, and welcoming. Checkin was a breeze. We had a quick tour of the property and settled into our room. EV charging is free onsite, which is great! Breakfast was top-notch. We will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

What a treat staying at The Ruse was. We loved the property and grounds. We stayed in the Squire Room which was lovely. It was a bit loud being in the front of the property and next to the road. Also could hear the gate open and close after 10 pm each night as guest came and went. Breakfast we excellent, loved the putting green and the pool/hot tub area were very relaxing. There were only a few people staying there while we were there so it was extremely private and quiet during our stay which we loved. Absolutely would stay again. The staff is also top notch and very helpful and accommodating.

We booked a long weekend at the Ruse to enjoy wine tasting and the charming town of Healdsburg. We were greeted by overwhelming warmth and hospitality by every single member of their staff. This place is truly a hidden gem. Absolutely beautiful and immaculate grounds. The rooms are very private, spacious and well appointed with Nespresso coffee, robes, slippers and all the small touches that go the other extra mile. We had a delicious farmers market breakfast each morning in the gorgeous pavilion, expertly prepared by their resident chef, Craig. We enjoyed wine that we purchased at a nearby winery by their fire pit in evenings and swam in the pool under a sprawling oak tree. Even played pickle ball for the first time. It was absolutely perfect and we can't wait to return. THIS is how you do a modern bed and breakfast!

This was one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. The room and grounds were so beautiful that we decided to dine in each night and play golf on the exceptional putting green and pickleball on the courts. The included breakfast was also really nice. I would recommend this to anyone heading to the Sonoma wine country

What an amazing trip and stay at the Ruse. From the minute we booked the Stay and Play, Christine at the front desk, was so helpful to answer questions and make our trip spectacular. I cannot say enough about the property and the breakfasts! The 18 hole putting green was so fun. Beds were very comfortable, the golf at the Mayacama was outstanding. We have already decided we are coming back next year.

This place is immaculate! Newly decorated 1882 property that looks like a West Elm showcase. We stayed in the queen room upstairs- and were glad we opted for the smaller room as it had a spacious private balcony, view of the pool and garden and lots of light. It’s compact so ideal for short stays. Breakfast was a 5 star experience. A 15 min stroll gets you to downtown Healdsburg with plenty of shops and tasting rooms. Thoroughly recommended!

Smile is everything in a hospitality business! The guy who checked us in did not provide any info, and was not friendly. The were some spots on the bed. The check out time is 11 am, the stuff knocked our door every hour from 9:00 am offering room service or reminding us to vacate the place. Breakfast- no comments at all, I cant eat over -salted rice and rotten salmon. The hotel itself is beautiful, but what is this hotel without great staff?!

This was our first trip to California wine country. The Ruse was a terrific experience. The grounds were fantastic with Putting green, bocce and pickle ball. Out chef Craig and Joanna were the greatest experience for our breakfast… not only the presentation of food, but the kind personal touch that made us feel like family. I highly recommend this resort while staying in the Healdsburg area.

Pros: Grounds are beautifully landscaped. Design style of room pleasing. Very nice linens. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff in restaurant/breakfast area. Cons: Reception staff efficient but not particularly friendly. TV in our room was mounted at foot of bed, parallel to bed. A bit awkward to view. Room was a bit crowded, with only 15" or so on one side of the bed. No magnifying makeup mirror in bathroom.

Everything was brand new and clean, staff was super nice. Liked the chef prepared breakfasts. Enjoyed the bocce and pickle ball, would have liked to try the hot tub, but it was a cold weekend.

The Ruse was impressive. They basically gutted an early century Victorian and everything in the house is brand new and updated to the standards of todays travelers. Our room had a fireplace, brand new bathroom, sitting area and dressing area. We had a big patio to sit in as well. The grounds have a huge pro designed putting green, large pool with spa and my wife and I enjoyed several games of pickle ball on one of their 6 courts. They have a new dining hall with a chef that is fun to talk to and is credentialed under a few Michelin starred restaurants. They have rooms in the main house as well as cottages near the pool and putting greens. I am definitely making this place my go-to every time I go back to Healdsburg.
