Fantastic location: super easy access to more than a dozen restaurants and bars, and an easy 15 minute walk to a dozen dozen restaurants and bars downtown or on the harbor. And right across the street from beautiful Spring Garden park.

This hotel is a real gem. It's conveniently located near the major sites, and the property boasts a nice combination of old school Grand Hotel charm with moderate amenities. The hotel staff are great, however the concierge, Kari, went out of her way to be helpful. There's lots of good dining in the area but don't overlook the hotel's Arms restaurant, which is excellent.

This is my second time staying at the Lord Nelson in Halifax. It’s my favourite Halifax property, the hotel has been nicely renovated, It is very clean and staff are terrific. It is situated conveniently right on spring garden road close to many amenities also a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and historic properties, 5 minute walk to the citadel and a 10 minute walk to SMU/DAL and Point Pleasant Park.

I loved it - it felt like a proper, beautiful, well appointed hotel, the staff treated you with dignity and were dressed well, which may seem odd to younger people but this is the way a hotel used to be- still modern amenities but the old world charm remains. Thank you, room was quiet, clean and super comfortable. Underground parking easy to access, the food and bar are wonderful. If I am staying in Halifax again, it will definitely be at The Lord Nelson. Please don’t change a thing ❤️

I was there for a conference and it was very convenient. You can walk out the door and turn the corner to find restaurants and shopping. It is also across the street from the beautiful public gardens.

Such a beautiful hotel. Such a great location as well. The staff were friendly and prompt. However, We had one little issue upon checkout. We had requested a late checkout as our flight departure had changed. Staff obliged the request however after arriving back from lunch our cards were deactivated and we couldn’t get into our room. After solving that little hiccup we went back to our room to pack up our belongings only to find a staff member at our door reminding us about checkout. We found this to be very pushy. The customer service rep expressed a sincere apology after that interaction and informed us of staff miscommunication. We will return to the hotel again.
