I received food poisoning from an undercooked pizza at their bar. I spent the entire stay sick in my room. Unfortunately this was also my wife’s birthday and this issue made her cry on her birthday. Due to my illness I was unable to enjoy any of the amenities I spent almost $500 per night to enjoy. Management was not only unhelpful but also accused me of lying. I spent 3 hours trying to work with them to no avail. Management told me that since I did not call an ambulance there was no proof of my illness. I have been a nurse for 16 years and this was not a medical emergency. However it impacted me a lot. This was an incredibly disappointing experience.

Top notch service
Excellent "resort" hotel in a lovely setting within Hakone National Park. Highlights include very relaxing onsens, a very comprehensive breakfast, and the most helpful staff we have experienced on our trip so far. Special mention to Ken Ishida and Fujita Kanko, who both went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A great base for visiting the Hakone NP's many beautiful places.

We experienced cockroach on the food (the condiments) during dining. We changed to another table and saw another cockroach crawling on the floor. I can imagine there were many crawling around the restaurant. Totally unacceptable for such a premium hotel !! Will not recommend anyone to this hotel. High potential for food poisoning.

Had a very relaxing and memorable stay here for two nights. Was greeted immediately upon arrival and the staff were very professional and courteous. Their breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever had. The room was clean and spacious, with a private onsen facing the calming view of nature and trees. Highly recommended and would definitely return again.
