Great breakfast, terrible pillows
Conveniently located hotel to Hachinohe Shinkansen station. The staff were very helpful when the self checkin wasnt working for our booking. Complimentary breakfast was excellent, highlight of the stay. The hotel made a big deal in their guest information about their ergonomic comfort pillows. In fact the pillows were diabolical instruments of torture. The terrible pillows, plus a loud and frequent whining noise that could be heard in the room ( think it might be a water hammer problem in the pipes) are the reason for the low score.

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Hachinohe train station, exiting from the East exit. Small but comfortable hotel; has everything you need to spend a night. Hotel also provides free breakfast. There are a few restaurants in the train station and also across from the train station.

As the outside air was comfortable, I opened the door and immediately thereafter there were many small insects coming in. It was my total failure. Avoid lower floors if you want to open the window.

Compact Hotel with extras
Hotel is compact but with lots of extras. The room is small; typical of rooms in Japan. Very clean and kept in excellent condition. Everything is compact but all of the amenities are available plus more on request like extra pillows, foot pillows, leg pillows, pants press and a coin laundry. Perfect for a traveling business person or a short stopover for a few days. Buffet breakfast was limited but adequate.

Satisfactory Business Hotel
The Comfort Hotel is a very much a business hotel and provides all the basic necessities that one would expect to a satisfactory level and I would say that the front desk and breakfast staff were particularly friendly. For a leisure traveller, the hotel being next to Hachinohe Station has the advantage of being very convenient to set down your bags after arriving via Shinkansen but on the flip side is a little removed from Hachinohe town proper (local train 20 mins -they run about twice an hour- or an hour+ on foot.) so that's something to consider. Again the stay was very perfunctory with very good staff.
