Travelled with family
The host of this property is very rude and manipulative. Will hang up on you mid-sentence. When I asked the host to cancel my booking due to the civil unrest in Guatemala, the host refuses to do a threeway call with Vrbo and I, so they can lie in order to keep your money. The receptionist at the property is also no different. When i arrived they treated me okay but 2 seconds later they saw my relative walk throufh the door they immediately looked at my relative from head to toe and started shooing them out and yelling at them to leave and that they look too poor to be there, in which resulted in the receptionist physically pushing ( which is now considered assault) my relative out the door. Seeing how they were treating my family, the no longer desired to stay there. Thankfully I was able to get a chargeback through my financial institution despite the headache and after having Vrbo support try everything in their power to get the host to cancel. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Be careful with who you book with and please reconsider staying at Shift Cayala and if you did book with this host, please cancel before its too late.
