We had issues with the check-in process. I never received check-in instructions or a code. I sent the owner a message through the VRBO app, then a text, then left a voicemail. After about an hour of trying, I contacted the VRBO helpdesk. They attempted to contact the owner with no response. They told me I could cancel and get my money back but this was a busy weekend for college visits and I knew there would be little to no other options. I then texted the owner again. I called and left another voicemail, then called again, on the third try the owner answered. There appeared to be a miscommunication and someone else in her office was supposed to send the check-in instructions. While I understand things happen, I made considerable attempts just to get the check-in code and spent over an hour trying to get the info. It ended up working out and we got the code about 5-10 minutes before we actually arrived at the property. (We arrived at 8pm and check-in was at 3pm.) Overall, the property was good. The master bedroom had not been vacuumed in some time, it was pretty filthy. And, when we went to the third floor, an overwhelming smell was present. It smelled like a skunk...I thought that perhaps it was a neighbor b/c these are townhomes. The smell was still there the next day.
