Gramma Dottie’s Garden Retreat - Private Room

Welcome to Grandma Dottie’s Room – Your Cozy Greensboro Nook with Insider Perks
Say hello to Grandma Dottie’s Room, your private upstairs bedroom in our shared Idlewood home—just this room, not the whole house! Tucked in Greensboro’s pedestrian-friendly heart, this short-term rental in Greensboro is a sustainable vacation rental gem for up to two guests, steps from downtown and Cone Hospital. Why stay in a private room where we live full-time downstairs? Because guests adore having Joy and Eric—your Greensboro insiders—right below, ready to spill the beans on our favorite hangouts, eats, and shops. It’s your cozy cottage-style retreat with the luxury of local know-how, no car required—trails, buses, and bikes have you covered!
About Grandma Dottie’s Room
This upstairs hideaway is your private bedroom, connected to an en suite Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared only with Mamaw Uschie’s Room next door—check the labeled floor plan photo of the upstairs spaces for a clear layout! The main floor is our full-time home—no kitchen access downstairs (Joy’s baking sourdough treats in her tiny kitchen!), though we might share a meal when time allows. It’s sustainably sourced with local love from Red Collection and Reconsidered Goods, kept spotless by Simply Organized and Clean, and pest-free with Go Forth Pest Control—synthetic fragrance-free and non-corporate, with insider hosts at your service!
Key Features (Your Space):
Private Bedroom: Your own queen-sized bed with memory foam mattress, 100% cotton linens—cozy and exclusive for two!
Workspace: Desk, lamp, power outlets—work or dream in your private zone.
In-Room Eats: Dorm-sized refrigerator, microwave, and electric hot water kettle—snacks and tea stay upstairs, no full kitchen access downstairs!
En Suite Bathroom: Shared with Mamaw Uschie’s Room only, featuring a curved glass shower, pedestal sink, and travel-sized hair/skincare essentials—see the floor plan for layout!
Shared Amenities (Limited Access):
Main Floor: Not your private space—Joy whips up baked goods in her downstairs kitchen, and Eric might play the baby grand piano (request classical or yacht rock anytime!). We’re open to sharing the dining table if you’d rather eat there than in your room, and might invite you for a meal when schedules sync.
Insider Access: We’re your Greensboro gurus downstairs—ask us anything about local spots to hang out, eat, or shop!
Side Porch & Yard: Rock away in the chairs on the side porch facing Grayland St. where you park, and roam the side yard—your outdoor chill spots!
Backyard Note: The fenced backyard is our private retreat—Eric and Joy’s escape—but we occasionally invite guests for a bonfire or drinks on the back deck when the mood strikes (not for regular guest use, though!).
Laundry: For 30+ day stays, one load per week in our downstairs washer/dryer with your unscented detergent or our eco-friendly soap sheets—ask us!

Thank You for Helping Us Start Our New Life
We are truly grateful for all your kindness. As this was our first time living in the U.S., we had many concerns, but thanks to your thoughtful arrangements, we were able to start our new life smoothly. We sincerely appreciate it. Even though it was winter, we were able to live comfortably in a warm home.
