Don’t go to room #9.
The first room I was assigned my room key didn’t work. I brought it back to the receptionist and she tried to get it to work. She then discovered that the locks had been changed but the keys not updated. She assigned another room. When I got to the room it was a double but I paid for a queen. At that point I was so tired after a 12 hour drive I didn’t care. The bathroom was so small I had to sit sideways on the toilet because there was no room between the toilet and the bathtub. Again….to tired of care. My next thing was to take a shower…turned the taps but the shower didn’t work. So I was forced to take a bath. With 2 false knees not an easy feat. I tried to drain the water and the plug wouldn’t come out so I had to leave the water in the tub. I paid for Queen, got a double and definitely no perks.

The Hilltop Motel and Restaurant is a lovely place to stay. The room was clean and large. The pillows were great. The restaurant was nice with a good variety. The seafood chowder was sooo good.... the best I have ever had. Overall a lovely experience.

It was the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in. Room was small, smelled weird, TV sound was so bad you could barely hear it. Hot water took forever to heat up and the pipes shuttered loudly in the wall. Green washcloths bled green water into the sink. Will not be back for the price they charged.

Excessively noisy from people going up and down the stairwell, could hear the water running through the pipes in the wall and road noise. Lots of trucks using Engine brakes coning down the hill. The room itself was average, clean, the vicinity to the falls was nice so I got easily see them on a trip jjst passing through for the night, but I wouldnt stay again because if the excessive noise.

I have seen some reviews on here saying that this property is dated and, while I understand that it might need a lick of paint or a new piece of carpet here and there, I simply don't agree. This is the sweetest place we stayed on our road trip. All of the staff and both restaurant and hotel were lovely, the bedroom and bathroom were absolutely spotless, and the view was stunning. The time of year wasn't right for the falls - something which we knew before we booked and is worth bearing in mind - but the view across the river, especially with an autumn sunset, was magical. It is clearly a very loved place and we'd love to come back again.
