The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful and we loved the hike to the waterfall! The food was delicious in the hotel and the staff was helpful.

Hotel in a beautiful area . However, grossly overpriced. Despite costing a fortune had to wait 15 minutes for someone to appear at check-in at 7pm on a Saturday.

The Glendalough Hotel is perfect for exploring the many trails surrounding the Glendalough Ecclesiastical Settlement. Our room was clean, bedding was comfortable and the check in process was easy. The hotel offers a great outdoor space, was very quiet, our room was large, shower was great after a long day of hiking. Tea and coffee provided in the room. Breakfast and onsite restaurant food were average. There are two restaurants within walking distance. Hotel staff was attentive, courteous and went above and beyond to meet our needs. They even offered porridge and vegan sausage. Improvement would be to invest in small room refrigerators. We would definitely stay here again.

Good location for access to the area. Hotel itself old and worn. Food adequate but not tasty. Facilities worn.

Amazing location that allowed us to take advantage of the quiet mornings and evenings - after the tour buses leave. Comfortable beds, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast. Front desk staff could use some customer service coaching.

Nice place - great location.
Old hotel with a pub and restaurant right next to lots of walking and hiking trails. We had a nice old room on first floor overlooking river and valley. It was offseason in early April, so no people congestion anywhere. One could see how busses full of people probably clot the place up in high season.

Old hotel but only choice in the area. Surrounding walks were beautiful. Food in the restaurant was disappointing.

Amazing location in Glendalough
Fabulous location in Glendalough. The triple room we were in was a bit dated but clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was nice and roomy. The morning breakfast was good.

The location is amazing. When the crowds clear out, take a hike after dinner and experience the trails and the ruins in peace. Serenity. Hotel was quaint. Food was good.

Vacation
The hotel is old and outdated, which isn't a big deal. However, there are no fans in the rooms and even with the windows open the whole night, it gets very hot and stuffy in the rooms. The towels were stained, which is gross. Wouldn't stay again.

I loved the location being so close and convenient to hiking trails, lakes, Wicklow Gap, and close enough to shopping and other amenities. The staff was excellent! I appreciated the conversations, recommendations, and welcoming personalities. I didn't like that there was no outdoor seating near the water for a picnic, or just to enjoy being outdoors. The only outdoor seating was by the BBQ Cafe and posted signage that you can't use that seating unless buying from them. But what good is having a beautiful spot on the water if you can't enjoy it? I also would have liked a refrigerator in the room. We had been traveling for weeks and having a fridge would have helped us preserve some of the foods we were enjoying along the way. Overall our experience was pleasant and I would recommend this hotel to others.

The walking trails and scenery and pop-up market in the area are 10 out of 10 The hotel was small with tiny elevators and skeleton staff The dining facility and menu were not desirable. We had down the street 2 km to a nice little restaurant that was perfect. The rooms themselves are nice but with no outlets in the bathrooms and small But they do have a monopoly rooms in the area, so it is not a bad stay by any means
