Your own Wine Country resort with pool and Sonoma Mountain View

Olive Glen is a new home on Sonoma Creek in beautiful Glen Ellen, California, minutes from the world-famous wineries of the Sonoma Valley and Napa. This beautiful, private home, with a pool completed in May of 2024, is on nearly an acre of land with a 60 vine vineyard views of treetops, Sonoma Mountain, and Sonoma Creek.

It's the perfect place for time away with friends or family.

The home is shaded by mature olive and redwood trees. Its features include a new pool and spa completed in 2024, a fully equipped chef's kitchen, a covered outdoor game/TV room, solar power, an electric car charging station, a home entertainment center, an indoor dining area for 6, outdoor teak dining table, gas fireplace (no propane tank needed), hardwood floors, wine refrigerator, upscale linens, modern decor, and much more.

There is a full bathroom and an outdoor shower pool side.

The primary bedroom's en suite bath has a giant soaking tub. All living space is on a single level, which opens out to a 1500-square-foot deck with areas to lounge and enjoy the views, a teak dining table, a gas BBQ (connected to the installed gas line, no propane tanks required), and southern exposure for all-day sunshine (most of the time). The deck is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of rosé and read a good book (there's fast internet and a PS4 inside too).

The game room has everything, it's a covered patio overlooking the pool, vineyard, and Sonoma Mountain with a pool table, ping pong table, dart board, corn hole, and an 85" television to gather and watch the big game, a movie, or your favoriteTV show.

A separate casita studio with kitchen is available for up to 2 additional guests only for stays of 30 days or more.

There is plenty of off street parking for up to three cars.

Olive Glen is about half a mile from fine dining options in the village of Glen Ellen, including the acclaimed Glen Ellen Star, Jack London Saloon, The Fig Cafe and Wine Bar, The Mill at Glen Ellen, Garden Court Cafe, and Yeti.  

There are dozens of vineyards, wineries, and wine-tasting rooms nearby, several within walking distance.  The area is also perfect for hiking at Jack London State Park, or Sonoma Valley Regional Park, biking, photography, and relaxing.  We hope you enjoy Olive Glen and Glen Ellen as much as we do.

Please note that although we do love pets, we do not allow pets of any kind at Olive Glen, no exceptions. It's interesting how often people ask if they can bring pets. The answer is always no. The absolute maximum number of guests allowed on the property at any time is 6. Also, no exceptions unless it is for a child under 2 years old.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Perfect Location for a Sonoma Getaway
This was a great property. Most importantly, it is in a central location and a short distance from many Sonoma County wineries, while also being a short drive from SF. The view of the mountains and vines on the property are also a nice touch. Check-in was easy and the host was incredibly responsive to all communications. The house was well cleaned and full stocked. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were all clean and well maintained. The newly built pool area was a perfect way to cool off on the hot afternoons. The outdoor shower, inflatable chairs, and other pool amenities provided by the host made the pool convenient for everybody. The shaded game area next the pool was also a great hangout spot for people that wanted to be pool-adjacent. 10/10, would rent again.

A comfortable house in the countryside
The house is new and fully equipped, clean and very comfortable. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything that one might need, the deck is large, and it opens onto a wonderful view of the countryside. The location is also quite good with easy access to the small town of Glen Ellen with its restaurants and shops. We rented an EV and were pleased to find a charger on the property. While the house had an easy to read and helpful booklet, the owners were very responsive to questions. They met us upon arrival and gave us a very good tour of the house, inside and outside, they were available to answer questions and they made many excellent recommendations about restaurants and places to visit. While the house is on a small but busy road it is set back enough that we were not bothered at all by any road noise. There was construction being done in the back yard where a pool was being installed. While the construction was stopped during our stay, it did limit our access to the outdoor area and it impacted the view.

Lovely and relaxing
Five of us celebrated my daughter’s 30th birthday by staying in this lovely home and visiting nearby wineries. The house is very well appointed, fully stocked and Melissa was very helpful, with detailed welcome information and by quickly responding to any questions. Even though the road could be busy, we didn’t hear it inside or out. Everywhere we wanted to go was easy to get to and we were glad we had a car, as the road isn’t pedestrian friendly, especially after dark. We all agreed we would stay here again, without question! Wonderful property in Glen Ellen. Communication with Melissa was great. No issues at all with the house. Listing was accurate and house was well stocked with everything you could need. We were able to walk into town. Great pastries at Les Pascals and food shopping at Glen Ellen Market. Wine tastings at both Laurel Glenn and the Wine Star. Walked to Glen Ellen Star for dinner. Also convenient location for trips into both Sonoma and Healdsburg. Beautiful town and we would like to return

Truly remarkable house. Super comfy, super clean, beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out, grass yoga mats on the deck, incredible gameroom with space heating . . . there isn't enough space to describe. The Dowlings have truly thought of everything. Check out the close with every sporting good you can think of. Our fave: 3 sizes of coolers for our picnic at Jack London Park . . . complete with red checkered table cloths! Location is perfect. Easy walk to Glen Ellen, convenient to all the major attractions. And really nice, accommodating people!! This really made our trip

My girlfriends from college stayed here for our annual trip and it was just perfect! Everything we needed was provided, the house and the land surrounding it was gorgeous and it was close to everything while being far enough away to take a break. If we take another trip to the area, we’d definitely stay here again!

Perfect place
The place was amazing. It had everything you could want. Melissa and Paul were very responsive. We had a power outage and they were immediately at the house setting up a generator until the power came back on. The location was perfect. Everyone had a wonderful time and talked about how nice the house was. We are definitely coming back here in the future. David M
