As you pull into the driveway you'll be taken away with the serenity and peace and quiet. Don't be surprised if you see a few deer. As the cabin comes into sight so does the breathtaking view of Big Manistique Lake. Chances are before entering the cabin you'll be drawn to the lakeside. Pull a chair up to the fire pit and let the roasting of s'mores begin! Pour a glass of wine and relax watching the ducks, geese and loons from the screened in porch. Or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and watch your favorite show on ROKU. Sit on the dock and cast a fishing pole. Or enjoy ice fishing. Feel adventurous? Snowmobile and Side x side trails are within 2 miles.
Go sight seeing! Just 15 minutes from Benny the bearded Troll or Seney Wildlife Refuge. Like golf? JP memorial golf and Pizza is within 10 minutes . Their Pizza is unbelievable! They even have disc golf!
End of the Road Winery is only 5 minutes away! And for your sweet tooth there's Goodales Sweet Shop! Or Moose De Nord for unbelievable ice cream!
Looking to throw back a few or just have a great burger? Kim's Talley Ho in Curtis or The Shipwreck are 5 minutes away.

Don't forget to visit the Garland Zoo or Oswald Bear Ranch! Grand Marais is only 40 minutes away! Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island.
You definitely won't get bored with so many things to see and visit.

If you happen to be visiting for snowmobile season, you can access the trails from the lake or road. Maps are available at local businesses. As a reminder though, we are not responsible for the trails and roads. please rate our Lakehouse for the lakehouse not for the upkeep of trails in the area. We have no control over that or mother nature.

Snowmobiling fail
First of all, the cabin is great, but we planned this stay to snowmobile from the property but the location and logistics just didn't work for us. We have a 27' snowmobile trailer that barely fit down the windy drive and when it came to turning it around, it was all but impossible. Snowmobiling from the cabin is very difficult unless you don't care about your equipment, or have good knowledge of the lake. Schoolcraft County is NOT snowmobile friendly and not only plows H-42 to dirt daily, but also plows the county roads the designated snowmobile trails follow that must be used in order to reach the trails.

Nice, comfortable, & cozy property on the water. Very well kept. Nicely stocked kitchen utensils, best I've seen. Got out ice fishing, didn't catch much. Micks bait shop in Curtis was a great resource for ice depths & fishing supplies.Tally Ho in Curtis had great wings.Shipwreck in Curtis was very welcoming & had a little Christmas Eve party we attended.Curtis Cafe had fabulous breakfast & attentive wait staff. Plan to visit Curtis again. Kim is a great communicator & hostess!

The Aurora at the Lakehouse Dream
The Lakehouse Dream is an adorable cottage style home on one of the three inland lakes in Curtis Michigan. It has an open concept, two bedrooms, and a sleeping loft. It also has a great attached screened in porch. It was a bit chilly for us, so we didn't use it, but it would be perfect for summer. This is the most well-equipped VRBO I have ever rented-- which made it so easy to sink into our weekend getaway. Linens were soft, plenty of blankets available to snuggle into, and every kitchen amenity you need is available here. It was also absolutely quiet here as well, nothing but bird song and wind through the pines to be heard here. The biggest treat for us? Stepping outside (literally, step out and look up) to greet the Northern Lights. It was absolutely incredible. Curtis is a great central locale for a lot of attractions in the Eastern UP. After our days of walking the trails at Taquamenon and agate hunting at White Fish Point, Lakehouse Dream was a great place to come home to. Considering a trip with a comfy home-base in the UP? Look no further...

Cabin was snug but fine. Kitchen was well equipped. The TV was terrible-- the Roku only had a few apps so could not sign into ours. Only 1 kayak was disappointing.

Peaceful Getaway

UP North vacation
The Lakehouse Dream provided just what we were looking for in the upper peninsula. The lake access and seating at the lake was great. We loved the screened in porch and this is where we shared our meals and gathered at the end of the day. It was unexpectedly warm, so the fans the owner provided were MUCH appreciated. Check in and check out were simple. It was an easy place to call home for a few days and we all loved it.

Great Family Vacation Getaway
The Lakehouse Dream was a fantastic place for our weeklong family vacation. It starts with the fantastic lake views from the main living area, which extends to a large screen porch. We enjoyed the campfire pit by the lake for smores and enjoying the cool nights. There is a nice deck by the dock for enjoying the lake views with a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed and a grill on the deck to provide for all the essentials. We rented a pontoon from Curtis Adventures (highly recommended!) and they dropped it off on the docks nearby for a fun day exploring the lake. The central location worked very well for exploring both the Pictured Rocks lakeshore to Tahquamenon Falls and the Oswald bear ranch. Great times and we hope to return again!

Absolutely wonderful! My family LOVED it!
We had a completely lovely time at this house! it truly was wonderful. The house was clean and had full amenities... even things we didn't expect (snacks and even popsicles for the kids!). The beds were comfortable and the linens were very nice (soft sheets and fluffy towels!). It was chilly and windy when we stayed so unfortunately we didn't get to use the fire pit or the canoe, but that would have been very fun. The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous to see off the dock, and it was lovely to sit out on the little deck by the water and enjoy the peaceful calm. The house was perfect for my family... my Mother in Law came with us and enjoyed having her own room. My hubby stayed up in the loft with my sons, so I lucked out and had another room all to myself! We didn't use the TV at all, as we were enjoying the quiet and family time. We played some games, made dinner and breakfast, and LOVED sitting on the screened in porch. I had to text a couple of questions to the host, and Kim replied to my texts right away, and was very sweet and made sure everything was cared for! I actually think she went above and beyond for us! The cottage is centrally located and while in the U.P, we visited Tahquamenon Falls, Oswalds Bear Ranch, Fayette, Kitch-iti-tipi, The Deer Ranch, and saw a car show in St. Ignas. It really was a perfect time, despite the weather! I HIGHLY recommend this property and these hosts!

We loved our time at this property. The only complaint is how small the shower is (I'm a big guy, 6'4"-300 lbs) and showering was a chore. But given the size of the property there is no way to change it. We would happily stay again.

We picked the Lakehouse Dream because of its central location to Paradise and Pictured Rock. Cabin was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The back deck was perfect for sipping coffee and watching the sun rise over the lake. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful getaway!
This place was such a treat! It was a chilly and rainy June weekend, but we still enjoyed sitting at the lake or on the screened porch watching the ducks on the lake. Likely because of the weather, the cabins on either side of us were empty and the quiet was priceless. The long windy driveway opens to a great spot to unload our side by side and park. Curtis is a short distance away and have the friendliest people. We highly recommend this place.
