Location is the only reason you would stay here. It is as close to nature as you can get without having to drive or hike for hours. Extremely peaceful, staff is fantastic. Highly recommend staying here.
Magical location with incredible views and nature. Rustic cabins overlooking the forest and the ocean was incredibly peaceful and restorative. Yummy food available on sight
Amazing experience. Unfortunately weather was not but we made the best of it and still had a great time. It's a very relaxing place and built to feel that way. You're in the mountains in Malaysia so there are some bugs and animals. But not anything to worry about. Our host was nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Although a little isolated this was a great spot to just relax for a few days. Staff were fabulous. Food was excellent and the renovated rice barns make great accommodation. Good walking trail and easy acces to tours and guided hikes if required.
An absolutely beautiful setting offering total relaxation and calmness. Surronding by nature with stunning vistas, the well design hotel grounds provided enough areas to explore and capture in pictures. The friendly and helpful staff ensured that all your needs are met.
If you want a real relaxing retreat then Malihom Private Estate is the place for you! I would probably recommend no more than 2 nights as you are not likely to leave the place once you are there as it is a bit tricky going to and from. I suggest you take some snacks (including drinks), as there is no vending machine or shop to purchase from. We did get served beer by the pool which was nice.
Lunch and dinner need to be ordered by a certain time (check with staff) and the main is a choice of about 5 dishes, but you get a starter, soup and dessert as well (all for a set price). As breakfast is included, we decided to have this late, skip lunch and have an early dinner. The food was very nice, the barns are very quaint and nice and clean, the staff are very friendly and the view is sensational!
We loved our 'retreat' before the hustle and bustle of the busy touristy places and will definitely do this again!
One piece of advice, don't get the taxi or driver to drive to the top, instead ring the number at the bottom of the hill on the sign and leave it to the expert staff to tackle the windy, skinny road up and down the hill... this is from first hand experience that our taxi driver will never forget!
The views are amazing, the staff pay close attention to detail, and overall just the best stay we had out of three different cities. The trek up the hill is quite steep, but completely worth it and make it that much better. If you have any issues just call the hotel staff. Dinner and breakfast are delicious.
Absolutely amazing I loved it. The drive up was a bit scary but once day I loved everything. The design of the bungalows, the sculpture, plant sculpture, gardens and the lovely shared spaces and bar. The pool was elegant and beautiful and everywhere and every angle had a new and beautiful
View.
Secluded, private, surrounded by nature; it's exactly how it looks in the pictures. It's a pretty narrow and steep road to get there, but once you're there, it's perfect. The staff members are attentive and super friendly, and the food absolutely delicious. My room was lovely, and had stunning views. The facilities are also great, ie. the common room comes equiped with a TV, library, games & DVDs. I had the pool to myself, which I loved - the views from the pool area are wonderful. Make sure to bring bug repellent, I got eaten alive. I would definitely come back. It's the kind of place where you need to be happy to do absolutely nothing
We stayed 2 nights but wish we had been able to have 2 or 3 full days. The setting was amazing and we were able to unwind and forget the world. The barn we stayed in was simple but lovely. The bed was great. The downstairs bathroom was good for us.We enjoyed the hammock and the view from the deck was breath taking. The food was good and the staff friendly and delightful. It may not suit everyone but if a gorgeous, quiet, relaxing place in the hills with fresh air and trees is your idea of heaven...then go.
The staff is very good and hospitable. The meals which are all included are very delicious and high grade. In this B&B you are on the top of the mountain, and each number - is a separate barn (between summer lodge or tree-house, if you wish)). Still with air conditioner (which should be more powerful) and very nice bathrooms. But above all, I should say - you should try this unique experience - to live on the top of the mountains, with jungle - straight out of the barns, with perfect staff and very-very tasty dishes, with infinity pool and temperature 2-3 degrees lower than on the beach down the mountain. All this make the perfect getaway for some days. But prepare to do nothing but relax, enjoy, breathe clean air or read!
We had the barn facing actually between west (Georgetown) and east. If I return - I will choose east (more green, and alike for this place)). Enjoy!
Malihom is on a hilltop with a beautiful birdseye view of much of the island. The staff was fantastically polite and helpful. The food was very good. A little out-of-the- way but well worth it. Romantic. Secluded. Splendid.
Unique experience. The cottages are converted thai rice barns and amazingly well done. That said the rooms are quirky in terms of lay out. You will say, "wow, how cool" more than you say "wow, how comfortable". The setting is stunning. If you want to get away from it all, this place delivers.
It was a very amazing night we spent there. The hotel is a great one, actually if we can consider it as a hotel, however it was more of a private room surrounded by the nature (mountain, trees, sea view, etc..). The way to the hotel was very challenging going up to the hill for more than 4 Km but it was part of the enjoyment we had. The stuff was very friendly, food was very good at dinner, little bit more than average at breakfast. Room was just perfect and big but there are only 2 rooms with this characteristics and the rest (6 rooms) are a bit smaller. Swimming pool is fantastic but risky for kids which is the case for the whole property. We enjoyed a lot our stay there but we think that 1:2 nights will be more than enough there specially if you have kids.
Amazing! For a place to get away from everything to relax and destress Malihom can not be beaten. Amazing service, beautiful serene surrounds it was very special.

Amazing Summer
I like such a remote area! You can't go there simply by foot or even by driving your sweet car. There are many steep slopes!
Usually you could ask hotel arranges a taxi, and most probably it would be Jeff Tan, a very helpful and nice driver and even a tour guide! He could tell you much about the plants and fruits around Malihom when going through. Everytime when you go up and down most likely Jeff will be your driver. Chit-chat with him is another good activity too!
Foods and fruits in Malihom are excellent! Fresh, taste good, mix and match were done very well. I suggest the chef should arrange some cooking classes! As a tourist I would like to learn how to make use of different kind of spices. You don't have to bring outside foods, I guarantee weight must gain after three meals offered daily. VERY FULL! But I like it.
Room is clean and room service is up to standard. Staffs are nice and helpful. Mosquitoes control is done quite well, you seldom find mos around the living area. Views from Malihom are great! Sunset, sunrise, areas around queensbay mall you may see, the western coastal line, and of course, the mountains around there. Just imagine you are surrounded by GREEN and QUIET!
