Nice clean hotel
I found the hotel to be satisfactory. It is a bit on the older side but I think that's the case for anything in Genoa. Front desk staff was nice. Overall it was a good stay. I'd stay there again. When you are looking for the hotel look for Hotel Nuovo Nord on the main road. The street is right across from it. Check out Pizzeria La Superba which close by. Great pizza!

A quiet hotel in the city center
This hotel is conveniently located near major points of interest. On the plus side, it's extremely quiet for a hotel in the middle of the city as it's situated in an alleyway with another hotel & a few small businesses. Also convenient is their on-site parking for an extra 15 euros. It's locked and underground so no worries about vandalism. Free wi-fi actually worked well. The room (#43) was OK for one night, but the bed was rock hard and so were the pillows and the bathroom is miniscule. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. On the whole, the hotel is a good choice for the price, but don't expect luxury.

Convenient location for Piazza Principe station
The first impression on entering was the smell. The hotel has pets (a large dog and a long-haired cat) which unfortunately make the ground floor, including the dining room, quite smelly. Definitely to be avoided if you have any kind of animal allergy! It's a budget hotel, so we weren't expecting a high level of comfort. The room was cramped, with one of the single beds at an angle, to allow access to the bathroom. The décor was hideous, but the room was clean and the beds were perfectly comfortable.

Nice Hotel Very Close to Piazza Principe Station
Our main interest was in having a good hotel very close to Piazza Principe station as we were arriving late and leaving early the next morning. The bonus was the proximity to restaurants, the very helpful staff and an excellent breakfast available at an early hour.

Ideal for an overnight stay
This hotel had lovely views from 2 small verandahs, air conditioning and a large bathroom. The staff was very helpful especially when I had locked my key to a padlock in my case!

Ok for a single person
The bed was too small for a couple and jammed against one wall if the room. We asked for a-c or a fan. In heat wave conditions 1 of these should be available. I didn't mind a shared bathroom. We were also charged for the original 2 nights even though I had the ok from the hotel that we would be able to cancel 1 night due to a family issue that arose, so either I need help from Hostel bookers or from the hotel for a refund. I had emailed a few weeks out from the booking so this is disappointing

not bad
The hotel was slightly difficult. It was right next to the Stazione Principe train station. The room was small, but had everything we needed. The bed was 2 twin beds together. Most of the staff seemed to ignore us except for the man that worked at night. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

A view versus space?
A 5 minute walk to Piazza Principe train station. Friendly staff. Good value. Rooms on the top floor have a small balcony and a great view of the city. The trade-off is that those rooms are smaller than those on the lower floors. For me, the trade-off was worth it.

Condition of room
The room in general needed a thorough clean. The bed was very hard and lumpy and not conducive to a good nights sleep. I did write out and leave some feedback with the receptionist on duty at the time I left but the reaction to that was not positive. If I knew the cleaning had been addressed to a higher standard, I would probably stay again.

Not so nice
There were some positives to this hotel. It had on site parking and the veranda had a great view, it was within waking distance to a few places on our list. But it was difficult to get to, the staff spoke very little English, the bed sagged into the center, there was sketchy hot water, wifi in room didn't work, and the hairdryer was completely useless with holes in the tubing. We were glad to be there only one night. Would not go back.

An old and very tired hotel
This place requires some renovation if it wants to attract more tourist. I didn't feel clean and comfortable in the room. It is adequate if you have to stay one night only and need to be near the train station.

I wouldn't stay there for more than two nights... People were nice though, wifi on the 4th floor didn't work.

Genoa
The hotel is very near the center of town and right next to the train station. so convenient. Also it was a very short walk going down to the pier. fantastic location. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was adequate simple fare but enough to make you full. They served fruits for breakfast which I was really happy about. They let us keep our luggage in the sitting room once we checked out. I appreciated this effort. They also provided maps of Genoa. There are a lot of restaurants near the hotel. The room was very small but I was just one person.

Good location for Railway Station,OldTown & Port
The location was very handy for travelling and getting into key areas to visit. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful on giving advice where to visit and eateries. The room we got through Expedia was large enough but very cheap, damaged and dated furniture. The bathroom was generally clean but shower grimy. I booked another night direct with the hotel and that room was larger, very spacious bathroom and clean. Query whether get a good deal with Expedia, obviously don't get best rooms. The buffet breakfast was well filled with a variety of hot and cold foods, good value. Overall for the price range good value.

Convenient location to principe station
The hotel was appropriate for a one night stop over, its very close to principe station and there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you dont want to wander far. The room is small and plain, the view from the window is nothing to rave about (concrete and other people's windows) but the bathroom was clean and the a/c worked wonderfully. A suitable hotel for the price paid.

Good location but erratic service
The hotel is an interesting old building in a handy location for Principe station and the old town. Our room had wonderful views over the harbour, along with a small balcony. The buffet breakfast was varied and substantial and the room had everything we needed, although the bath/ shower arrangement was awkward and hot water took 10 minutes to appear. Hotel service was variable; an extra pillow was promised but then did not appear until another, extremely helpful, member of staff was asked. The bed was spotless and comfortable but the floors of the room and bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned since the previous guests (lots of dust and hair) and a request for cleaning produced only a partial improvement.
