Birthday Getaway
I celebrated my 48 th Birthday on May 10th. It was amazing we hung out in the jacuzzi, drove to Treetop resorts for a morning and had full body massages. Saturday we drove to Mackinac and went horse back riding on the island followed by some shopping. Then headed back to the cabin where we jumped in the Kayaks on Lake Arrowhead, lit the bonfire jumped back in the jacuzzi and did some fishing on the lake. This was an amazing Birthday, I can’t wait to come again. Oh and the host was very attentive to our questions. It was something to do for all ages 8 years old to 48 years, the 9 of us had a blast.

Great cabin..very nice location
Cabin was very nice, clean, and well appointed. Glad snow shovels were available, needed them to clear stairs , decks, etc. upon arrival. Didn't realize there would be 2 sets of stairs to get in cabin, but once we cleared them of snow, all was good. Beautiful spot, try to ignore the neighbors dogs barking.

We had a great stay. The Bear's Den is clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the kayaks and swimming off the dock. We took some day trips to the U.P. and Petoskey and then enjoyed the hot tub and pool table when the sun went down. Would definitely stay again.

Loved our stay!
I have to say, this was THE BEST stay we’ve had at a VRBO! It was spotless (shout out to the cleaning crew😁), had everything we needed. The views were beautiful, and the setting was so peaceful. Communication was great, and fast. We enjoyed fishing, and the walks around the lake. We were able to visit Petoskey, Charlevoix (recommend the Mushroom Houses tour), Mackinac Island, Leland, Suttons Bay,and Traverse City. We can’t recommend this place enough! We are already trying to coordinate the rest of our grown kids schedules so that we can all come back together next year.

We are so grateful to Dorene for her flexibility when an unexpected blizzard brought us to the area early. The Bear’s Den was spacious and welcoming, with many lovely touches for Christmas including a small tree! The boys loved the pool table and we all spent hours in the hot tub as the snow fell.

Great Vacation Location!
My adult children, my spouse, my dog and I had a fun vacation at the Bear's Den! The property was comfortable and tidy and well-equipped. Bath towels and kitchen supplies were abundant and everything worked. We enjoyed dining and card games at the kitchen table and lounging around the upper and lower decks. Kayaking and swimming on the no power lake was great and we enjoyed the quietude of the no power lake. We enjoyed a fire at the fire pit and went over to the nearby P.O.A. landing area to see if we could catch any meteor showers. (Not the best viewing this year due to the timing of the full moon, but we did get to cast moon shadows along the road to and from the P.O.A. landing.) The bedrooms were on the small side, but that's not where we were spending our time. The public areas on the upper and lower levels were great for talking, hanging out together and watching a bit of television. The location is close enough to town and other activities that we had no trouble filling our time or getting items that we needed. The grill was good to have for cooking dinners, but we did order out one evening from the Iron Pig Smoke House - It's yummy if you're a fan of smoked meats! The roads in the Lake Arrowhead development were well maintained. On our first night there, there was a rain storm that caused some wash out areas on the roads, but they were manicured back into place within a day or two. The other folks we ran into in the neighborhood were all very friendly. Although this was a bit further from home than we wished it were, it has a lot to offer for a great family vacation!
