Nice, slightly run-down, high over Gatlinburg home.
The host was very responsive and polite, but the property is a bit run-down, especially the road leading to the driveway. Definitely need a decent vehicle to navigate the steep roads. The view is mostly blocked by trees. The bear cage for the trash was broken, so we had to leave trash inside the house. The upstairs shower had a leak, but fortunately we didn't have any possessions below it, or they would have been ruined. We made the best of it and had a good time, but wished the property would have been nicer.

Unexpected Surprise
Hard to find when initially driving in. Pretty forest and bears Rats presented problems ranging from hearing them running in the attic area to pulling trash out of the trash can nightly causing us to have to clean up after them each morning. Hot tub was inoperable and couldn't be repaired as it appeared.(got a credit back on this) Upstairs bathroom lavatory drain leaked out on the floor. I put a trash can under it to prevent flooding the bathroom floor area. Cabin needed to be aired out prior to our arrival, smelled very musky. I the downstairs bedroom area there was as it appeared, mold in the ceiling.

This was horrible
This location was very hard to get to. Very steep roads, the house needs updates. The house is very hazardous to any one who stays there. My husband is a contractor and the house is basically falling. The walls are buckling to the point where the paneling is buckling. After leaving the location we all have bite marks on our legs. It smells very mildew. When it rained you could hear a drip sound coming from the fire place. Where the hot tub sits the structure is pulling away from the house it's self. We stayed there cause we thought it was nice and I should of read the reviews but didn't. I am very upset. We where also notified that the jets don't work. None of the doors close right. Structures out side are falling apart. This property is not being taking care of at all.

NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY
I wish I would have taken the reviews more to heart when I booked this and looked for something else. 100% you cannot follow GPS to this property. The road leading up to this house is part gravel then a mass hole in the road. Yes, you will receive better directions in the email but it fails to mention how steep it is coming down the road to pull into the priority using their directions. We arrived and unloaded our car. As we were placing our stuff in the rooms, we saw a RAT! Now that pushed us to find something else. But the porches alone looked like them haven't had maintenance is years then getting into the house... the floors were just dirty or permanently dirty. I didn't want to take my shoes off. It's true that where is the bare minimum of kitchen equipment. No bowls. Very little pans and pots that are kept under the sink cabinet which has mold. The cabinets are peeling and there is really not a lot of space to keep dry food. The carpet upstairs is poorly placed and you will step on a staple or nail without shoes. The outside setting isn't even well kept enough to enjoy it. The chairs by the hottub are old and dirty and not comfortable. These pictures are truly misleading. The property desperately needs updated not for appearance purposes only but because there are so many hazards especially with kids. Now after finding the rat, the property owner answered quickly and offered a full refund. We were able to find a hotel for the night and another cabin for the rest of our stay which was million times better and made me feel better about being upset how poorly kept this property was because it's clear they did the bare minimum to put this property up. It's truly just a place to lay your head with a horrible drive to get to the property and barely equipped kitchen. Might as well stay at a hotel as the beds are way more comfortable.

Beautiful tucked-away property
The property was just as described. My family had a great time playing pool, relaxing and watching the wildlife (I mean bears…..and lots of them). The check-in process was easy and the the property owner was available by text if we needed anything. It was a great secluded getaway WAY up in the mountains (Roads were a little scary and STEEP) with plenty of amenities. Would definitely stay again!!

Great house with a lot of bear sightings
This house was perfect for our family of 4, the kids had the bedroom downstairs with the 2 queen beds and we had the king bed upstairs. The kitchen was perfect for making dinners after a long day of exploring the towns. We did run into one problem with the A/C, but as soon as I messaged the owner she had someone come out and fix it the next day! We also saw a bear almost every morning while we were eating breakfast. We definitely made lots of memories here that we will never forget!

Pictures are deceiving, but we still had a great trip.
Property owner was great to contact. They should fire the management company. A lot of things in disrepair that the management company should be taking care of. We own rental property and we understand use/abuse, but the management company should be changing the filter in the HVAC. It was so dirty it was shedding. The beds were nothing special, but a place to lay our heads. The listing clearly states a “welcome package of sundries.” That included half toilet paper rolls and half a paper towel roll. All together we spent little time at the cabin, so as my husband says “it’s not ours so who cares as long as their aren’t bugs!” Which their were none to speak of. A few MAJOR repairs would make a huge difference.

Should not be listed/not a good rental!!
Upstairs shower leaked into downstairs, onto pool table and other furniture. Put out bowls to catch water to protect pool table and wicker bench. Called property manager and was told they would look at it after we checked out. Six people were then using shower downstairs. Needs to be fumigated for centipedes (less the 23 we killed). No outside lights worked and upstairs bedroom door would not close. Paneling on walls was buckled and coming loose. Whole house needs a deep cleaning. House has a musty,unused smell. This house should not be placed on VRBO until these issues are addressed. Very disappointed in our stay and even more so when our contact did not offer to come to the house to check out the damage or offer any kind of solution to this upsetting situation. Manager should be held accountable for poor representation of property and not allowed to advertise this house until these issues are addressed. We will not be using or recommending this to anyone!!

Better Than Expected!
We didn't read the reviews before we booked, so we were a little nervous, because we read them after our window to cancel had already passed. The previous reviews were very unfavorable. However, we were relieved and pleasantly surprised to arrive and find the rental clean and in good shape. It is dated and "well loved" but it wasn't dirty or infested with any critters as we had read from other's experiences. Also, we did not experience any water leaks. We found the occasional bug, as expected when staying somewhere in the woods. We also found the kitchen equipped with most everything we needed, so we def had overpacked by bringing our own kitchen stuff. They even had a crockpot and pitcher, but if you need more than one beverage, or a particular size crock pot for your meal, it might be helpful to bring your own. Communication with the owner was very pleasant. She got in touch with us before we arrived, to give us directions to avoid the washed out part of the road (mentioned in other reviews). She was also very responsive mid-week when we needed assistance with the hot tub. One thing I would like to note, is the pools all take 15-20 minutes to get to, through windy mountain roads. We were in a Honda Odyssey. Also, the email is incorrect as to which days the pools were closed for maintenance, so I'd recommend just calling ahead to make sure it's open the day you want to go. LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS! We knew not to leave food in our vehicle due to animals, but we did not know bears could open vehicle doors. THEY CAN. We had an animal (most likely bear, no video proof though) go through and tear up our vehicle the first night. Night 2, a bear wandered through the yard around 6-7pm (not dark out) when we were finishing up smores by the campfire. We got inside quickly! So be on the lookout, the bears here do not fear humans. Kind of cool to see through the window of the cabin though. :) The only cautionary feedback I would have about the rental, is there are a few places on the carpet where the carpet tack strip is exposed, and a few of our family members got pricked on their feet. We tried to remember to wear shoes on the stairs. Also, the upstairs comforter did not smell clean, and had a strong smell of body odor. It was good we brought our own TP, not all bathrooms had a roll. Overall, we had a great vacation getaway. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub, and the rocking chair in the master bedroom was nice to use when putting the baby to bed.

I think you should emphasize more that the roads are practically washed out. The house needs a complete update. We ended up staying somewhere else due to the fact that it wasn’t very clean. It has good potential.

Terrible road, insufficiently cleaned, needs repair
I’ll start out by admitting we usually like to rent nicer places. We booked last minute so there wasn’t much to choose from. The road is extremely steep and 4wd would be helpful, but even with 4wd the road it is on is not maintained. Ruts and pot holes so deep that my Yukon scraped. The house was dusty and smelly. Water dripped from upstairs into the loving room soaking the floor and no the shower nor toilet was running upstairs. Water also comes up from below the laminate floor in front of the kitchen sink. The couch is 100% more comfortable that the beds. They are hard as a rock. The one positive I have to say about the house is that it was nice to have 3 bathrooms 🤷🏻‍♀️ Would not recommend

Chalet is halfway up to the top the ski slopes it feels authentic like a mountain chalet should got wood from Walmart had beautiful fires it is great views in the winter because you can see through the trees it was as advertised beds were comfortable shower was nice it’s a very good value for the price

The photos are a tad better than in person. I noticed there were a couple essential things in the kitchen missing that would’ve been helpful. One of the couches is being held up by a brick and I noticed quite a bit of mold on the wall in the kitchen. We also had to reach out to get our pin as it was never sent to us. However I will say the owners were very communicative once we were in contact and were nice enough to let us stay a little longer the day of check out. The pool table and hot tub was a nice touch. I think with a little updating this place would easily be 5+ stars. The location is a bit hard to reach going one way but the owners explain the best way to get to it and we had no problems finding it.
