With breathtaking, panoramic views of Mt. LeConte, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains, this gorgeous, four-season, five-bedroom rustic mountain lodge sleeps 16. It is tucked into the trees above the Ober Mountain ski resort, just a five-minute drive away.

Recently repainted in a combination of exciting and restful colors, "Bears on Skis" is the ideal destination for those who want the full Smoky Mountain experience when it comes to spectacular views from high above Gatlinburg but who also want to be close both to the National Park and to all the area's fun attractions. Gatlinburg and the park entrance are just short drives away; you can hike, play, come home, and go out again.

In winter, enjoy epic views of the skiers on the slopes of Ober Mountain. In spring, summer, and fall, "Bears on Skis" offers amazing views of Mount Le Conte and beyond, acres of glorious trees (a stunning sight in the fall), and even a cable car in the distance. Two lovely, family-friendly pools, tennis courts, and clubhouses for summer use are only a five-minute drive away. Wildlife on Ski Mountain is abundant and part of the fun of renting this home. There is a huge deck with a Charcoal grill in the driveway. On the deck you will find a dining table; you rarely have eaten or spent time with family and friends in such a beautiful setting.

Bears on Skis has ultra high-speed internet and 7 Roku smart TVs allowing access to your favorite streaming services. The cabin also provides Spectrum cable with local and news channels that you can stream through every TV.

Accommodations include five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom with shower and bathtub, smart TV, and decorated in mountain style.

Four bedrooms have king beds, dressers, and their own stunning views; the fifth has a queen-over-queen bunk and is right next to one of the king rooms. All four main rooms are of roughly equal size and have comparably stunning mountain views.

The living room features recliner couches, rustic decor (including custom wooden carvings of bears in the woods), and a wood-burning fireplace. There also is a second living room with swivel couches for maximum enjoyment of the view and to ensure your group has enough space for everyone.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a huge fridge/freezer, stove with smooth cooktop, new microwave, new dishwasher, toaster, slow cooker, and both pod and standard coffeemakers with a grinder for your beans.

The game room features pro-quality air hockey, a multicade arcade game set to free play, board games, and a sound table with a charging station and a high-quality speaker to stream your music.

Outside, you'll find the huge deck overlooking the mountains, complete with rockers, loungers, outdoor dining, and coffee tables. A well-placed hot tub allows you to enjoy the view as you soak amid twinkling lights.

Please note, Bears on Skis is located on a well-paved and city-maintained road. With that said it there will be curves and steep sections as we are in the mountains. The driveway can accommodate 4-5 cars and you will need to reverse out of the driveway.

AMAZING
Every room has a bathroom! The view is the best! Easy to get to for being so high up! The owners respond quickly to any question. We even went through a storm, lost power, and it was restored quicker than I thought possible! More than I imagined was supplied… from sheets and towels to a coffee maker and crockpot!

Total recommended we enjoy so much special when mama bear show up with her 4 cubs since day one and last day we loved so much definitely we didn’t cook out much because that beers but it’s ok you have so many good restaurants and down town Gatlinburg we definitely come back and rent the same place we loved and the kids desconect from electronics total recommend

We had our family get together to stay here. Overall it was an okay experience. Do not recommend if you have small children. The balcony inside the house has a beautiful hand carved bear scene but it is broken in multiple places and not sturdy, giving the chance for a child to fall to the next story down. The back deck is very big but it is VERY wobbly. There is another spiral staircase going to a private upper deck and it is very unsafe, with huge gaps in the railing where again a child could literally fall off the deck that is very high. There was a lot of dead bugs. Like a lot. I understood from the info we received that that is normal but the amount of dead bugs in there was rather gross and definitely should have been cleaned up prior to our arrival.

The cabin was really nice with a great view of the mountains that we all enjoyed but we had some issues that we tried to communicate with the owner or property manager but did not get any response. 1. We were at the cabin at the check in time at 4pm but could not check in before 4:30pm as the cleaning was not completed, and we could not go inside until the cleaning people finish their cleaning job 2. We brought lots of burger patties and hotdogs when we saw the grill in the pictures and also in the listing details, but could not find the grill anywhere, we were all really upset about it 3. Some of the bedrooms smelled of smoking which was definitely unhealthy for our kids and for all of us, we never expect it to happen in any of our stays in cabins or hotels :( 4. The TV remote in the living room never worked and most of us could not really watch any TV. 5. One of the bedrooms did not have any hvac working so my friend had to really pop open the bedroom door for whole 2 nights of our entire stay hoping some air to come from other rooms. I texted in the VRBO app multiple times and made phone calls but nobody replied texts and calls during our stay. I only got a call back during our check out from the Bear Tracts customer service and I explained all again. I demanded that they adjust the booking price as we did not get the cabin as it was explained in the listing and there were more issues. I still hope that they hear me and give me some good discount for the inconveniences

We had an amazing time at Bears on Ski's! There was 8 of us to celebrate our Mom's 60th birthday. Plenty of room for everyone and had everything we needed for our stay. The views are spectacular! We even had some unexpected guests, a mama bear and 2 cubs! Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great and enjoyed the cabin. Sone areas are in need of repair such as the base for hot tub, the grill, some exposed wiring/holes in walls and peeling paint on exterior. Excellent family stay with Bears
Great property, clean and nicely decorated, 5 nice bedrooms and full baths with game room as a plus. Hot tub well put to use. View from deck amazing. The road up was very windy. Time to destinations took a little bit longer than expected but ok. We were visited almost daily by bears and cubs at the back deck - enjoyed watching. Made our family vacation more amazing.

This vacation home was amazing. First day there was a baby bear on our deck. We named him Doug. Haha. We had three different families. 6 adults and 8 kids. Room for everyone! Can’t beat the views! About 20 minutes from everything. Feels like 10 minutes because it takes 10 minutes to get down the mountain. Driving up and down the mountain is a bit scary. You get use to it. Download their app when it staying here. There are free tickets to a lot of touristy things. I would definitely book here again!

Dish washer ws broken before we came in .Owner was aware of it an did not fix it and dirty and smelly water ws all over the kitchen floor .Maintanance people are of no help as they said owner was aware of the broken dishwasher before and woulld not replace it and thats it .i paid for 4 days and we had 16 people party. you can imagine the trouble we had . To make things worse temp was in the low 20s i am not happy as Vrbo will not address this either .so what is the meaning of renting from Vrbo ? I hope this review will make people dig deeper before renting this place

Wonderful vacation!!!
This property was amazing. So much more spacious than I imagined. Everything was clean, the kitchen was beyond stocked - Kuerig machine, regular coffee machine, 2 blenders, 2 four slice toasters, pizza pans, several huge stove top pans, baking dishes, tons of dishes and silverware, a few Tupperware containers, peelers, can openers, shot glasses….they’ve pretty much thought of everything. There were some minor items needing maintenance but no more than my own house. Some were fixed right away and some they said they’d fix after we left - nothing that was an inconvenience and definitely not worth mentioning. I was there with my parents (70’s), my sister and her family which included a 12 and 16 year old, and a couple of my senior neighbors (9 people total) and there was plenty of room. The arcade was a big hit with the kids, dad loved the hot tub, mom and I loved the air hockey. Everyone was impressed with the house! The deck was amazing!!! Great views all day but especially at sunrise. Even the bears loved the deck. Haha! They were up there wandering around pretty much every other day. We even got a wrestling show from two yearlings one day. And I had quite a surprise when I was packing the car and came around the trunk to find myself about 20 feet from mama bear and 3 adorable cubs. Scared the crap out of me but they wandered off without threat. I had hoped to see bears while on vacation but I never imagined it would exceed my expectations. (FYI, when you park, make sure your car is far enough away that it won’t get hit if the trash cage gets knocked over - missed my car by inches). There are plenty of board games there as well. And all the sofas are super comfy. If you get cold easily, you may want to take a few extra throw blankets for sitting around to watch TV or watching the sunrise out on the deck.

The view and deck area was fantastic.
When we first opened the door we were very Leary. After talking with the property manager we were very satisfied with the way they handled the issue at hand. The one thing that I think should be pointed out is there are no bedrooms on entry level. There are a lot of stairs for an older person to climb.
